Up for sale is a 1999 Toyota Corolla LE Sedan. Starting bid/reserve is $300 and will be sold to the highest bidder. Car must be picked up at my house and the buyer is responsible for the costs associated with title transfer and taxes. The car has low miles and has just had a fresh oil and air cleaner change along with new spark plugs. The car drives fine however the motor has started to make a rattling noise from about 2000rpms and higher and sometimes during idle. It doesn't seem to effect the performance any, however it does become louder at higher revs and tends to come and go. While cruising at 60mph I haven't noticed it. A buddy of mine used it to move from Indiana to Pennsylvania and gave it to me after buying himself a new Jaguar. Neither of us are mechanics so we don't have any idea what's wrong with it. As such, the car is being sold AS IS. Kelley blue book for this car in fair condition is $4,745, however that price assumes the vehicle is in good working order. The car has some dents which I tried to highlight in the pictures, however it is relatively rust free. I only noticed one small--as in one inch by a half inch--spot of surface rust by the trunk lid. The past owner did smoke in the car from time-to-time, but the smell from cigarettes isn't that strong (my opinion and I'm a non-smoker). The car has not been inspected yet in Pennsylvania. It is making a clunking/knocking sort of sound at high rpms typically when the engine is "off load" or not excellerating. It can be loud at times, but, as I said, it comes and goes. The few miles I've driven it I haven't noticed any deterioration in performance during the noise. With that said, I'm not a mechanic and make no guarantees regarding the engine. I drove it roughly 30 miles around town with no issues other than the noise. There was no issues regarding over heating, oil leaks, antifreeze leaks, or smoke. Additionally it should be mentioned that the buyer should grease the track on the drivers side window as it tends to get stuck from time to time. Also, another question that has come up was regarding the sun roof and if it leaked. When I washed and waxed the car I made it a point to see if there was any leaks...I found none.
