Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1976 Honda CB750, frame number CB7502543887 and engine number CB750E2432780. I picked this up a few years ago because it was just too nice to pass up and I wanted a stock CB to go along with my choppers. Since then I've only put a couple hundred miles a year on it. I just don't get it out much, so I figured this spring I would sell it to fund another bike. There are just over 17,800 miles on it, although it does still have tags and I might put a few more on it this week if the weather is nice. I haven't done much major work since I purchased the bike. Every spring I give it a tune-up so it's ready to ride whenever I get a chance. About 9 months ago I put new tires/tubes and a new chain on it. The bike is in very good shape considering the age, but it's not perfect. Please carefully view the pictures of the bike. These were taken just today after a nice 30 mile ride. Some of the chrome looks a little better in the pictures than it does in person (small polishing marks and such), but the chrome is very nice in my opinion. The exception would be the left mirror, which for some reason has pitting on the stem. The original pipes do NOT have the typical rust through underneath, but there is some baked-on oil from the chain on pipes #1 and #2 and a few boot scuffs behind the peg on the left. The rims and spokes are very nice. The bodywork (tank and sidecovers) appears to have been orange at one time. There are a few chips in the paint of the tank that show orange (see the pic), and the back of the sidecovers are orange as well. It is definitely an old repaint, perhaps an owner many years back really wanted a red bike instead of orange and changed it, I'm not sure. The paint is fine for a rider and looks ok, but if you want to restore the bike it isn't perfect. Also, the lower mounting pin in the left sidecover was repaired some time ago. You can't see it when it is on the bike and it is an old and stable repair. The seat does not have any rips/tears but the chrome plastic trim around the bottom has crinkled with age. I understand that this can be replaced but I have not really looked into it. The bike does run and ride. I had it out just today for a good 30 mile ride. It was a little cold-natured but considering I haven't touched it for over 6 weeks I'd say it ran better than I expected. This is not a restored bike, and it's not a new bike. It's 31 years old and almost 18,000 miles so there are various small dents, scratches, and imperfections from years of riding and enjoyment. I have described it to the best of my abilities, but in the end the bike is being sold strictly as-is. Please ask any questions before bidding. I do have a clean/clear title in my own name and the bike is presently still tagged, registered, and insured. Overall it is a very clean example of a stock CB750, which is getting harder to come by every year. Terms of the auction. A deposit of $250 is due via Paypal or US Postal Money Order within 48 hours of the close of the auction. The remainder is due via Cash at pickup, or if the bike is to be shipped it must be paid via US Postal Money Orders. All shipping arrangements are the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. I will assist in any way I can, but I will not ship the bike or choose a shipping company. Neither the bike nor the title will be released until the full balance of the auction is paid and cleared through an approved form of payment. If you have any questions about anything regarding this auction please feel free to contact me prior to bidding, and I will assist you in any way that I can. Videos of the bike: On May-10-11 at 18:10:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Some people wanted closer pics of the exhaust, so I have added three pictures to the listing. I have not polished or cleaned the pipes for these pics, and they were taken in the garage so the camera flash makes them look worse than they really are. Still, as you can see, the original exhaust is plenty solid.
