1960 Austin-Healey 3000 Beautifully Restored Numbers Matching Car Certificate from British Motor Industry Heritage TrustH-BT7-L/5754 For sale is a gorgeous, fully restored 1960 Austin Healey 3000. A ground up restoration was performed in 1990, and the car has been exquisitely maintained since and it has only been driven a little over 16,000 miles since. The car is spectacular in Colorado Red color, the interior has black leather with red piping and it drives as good as it looks. Originally a CT car, bought in Darien in the fall of 1959 right after release by the factory. Owner #3 had the car restored, not only cosmetically, but mechanically as well. The rear end is possibly the only part that has not seen a wrench. I have pretty much all photos and financials of the restoration and maintenance since. This is a numbers matching car, with a certificate from the BMIHT showing make and model, car/chassis number, engine number, specifications, colour, date built, date dispatched and factory fitted equipment. It is dated September 7th 2007. The actual mileage is unknown to me. The mileage I am going by is the mileage that was on the odometer at the time of the restoration, and the current mileage on the odometer Some of the details regarding the car would be that it is painted the original color of Colorado Red. It has no rust whatsoever, and to my knowledge it has not been driven in the rain since restoration. It does not have the factory silver painted wire wheels (although the spare does) but instead has four chrome wire wheels in beautiful condition. The tires are Vredestein 15" with a lot of tread left. Nearly everything on the car is original or original replacement parts, with the exception of the electric ignition and a gear reduction starter. It also has a badge bar with fog lamps that give it a great look. Head lamps are Lucas Tribars that recently went through a complete restoration in the UK. The bonnet is not original, but I do have the original bonnet for the purest. The black canvas hood (top) is in nearly new condition. The car has the original side curtains and tonneau. The car looks and drives like a show stopper and it has gotten trophies in some local shows. The electric overdrive (which works in both 3rd and 4th gear) underwent a complete rebuild and restoration in the UK. While riding in 4th gear in OD, RPMs only read 3K at 70mph. The oil pressure is right where it should be. When it starts at 60+ psi, when driving warmed up 40+ psi and warm ideling at 20+ psi. The temperature or radiator runs at or below 190 degrees all the time. It has a battery cut off in the boot. I will let the pictures give the best description of the car. I do not have pictures of the under carriage, because I do not have a lift. For seriously interested parties, I can take her to a garage and put her on a lift. The underneath is very solid. Additionally the car has been maintained by Master British Mechanic Robert Morey. Please contact me regarding addtional pictures or information. A good faith $1500.00 deposit must be made with 48 hrs of the auction close and submitted by PayPal. The balance by certified check or bank wire transfer within 7 days of auction close.
