Vehicle Detail
For sale here is a 1998 White Chevrolet Camaro. Before you read on you should know I drive this car every day to class and for a round trip, every other weekend to a city an hour and a half away. The car was wrecked once and had a salvage title but was rebuilt and inspected, so now the title is "Rebuilt Salvage." It has 154,000 miles. The actual reading now is 153,198, but I am driving it. The car has some problems, it is NOT in perfect condition. There are some places where some paint is coming off in a crevice on the rear bumper. Both of the window motors are not working. They are around 30-40 dollars a piece. The driver's side will work if you grab the window and help it with your hand but it seems like it has to recharge before you can get it to move again, so you have to wait around 5 min each time you move it. The check engine light is on. I took it two different times to have it scanned at Autozone, they told me the first time it was not firing on a cylinder, so I fixed that by putting in a new set of spark plugs and then took it back and they said it was the oxygen sensor. An oxygen sensor is around 75 dollars. The car's main problem is in the rear axle. The differential's spider gears are warped so the rear end vibrates. This can be fixed simply by buying a used rear axle from a junk yard or somewhere else and putting it on. The labor should take only a few hours, I got a quote from 54 Rebuilders (a local salvage yard) and for them to take it out of the other car for me, it was going to be $300.00, but I knew it would be much cheaper other places. The air conditioner compressor is not working. Also, if you fill the car all the way full of gas you can smell gas fumes from the inside. Sometimes you can smell exhaust fumes inside the car. The trunk lid seems to leak sometimes, too. I know this might not sound like a good car at all but like I said, I drive it daily. The interior is great except for some cracks on top of the dash and one of the little black handles on the back of the seat to release it forward has fallen off. There are two small holes in the upholstery one in the bottom of the passenger seat, and one in the back seat, you can see one of them in the picture. On the driver's side door panel there is a small screw holding in a piece, you can see this in the picture too. The exterior looks pretty good there are just a few scratches but no dents. I just do not have the time or the money to fix this car up. With some TLC I think it could be a great car. Feel free to email me to ask questions. I check my email daily, so I will get back with you the same day you send the question. Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!
