Vehicle Detail
$1000 NO RESERVE - 1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer This wonderful Grand Wagoneer is my daily driver, It truly has 174K miles on it, engines never been out, it's been serviced by the same mechanic since new. I am the 3rd owner, the first 2 were best friends. It was a garage queen up until about 10 years ago when the 1st owner sold it to his friend. Then it sat under a carport so the drivers side took more abuse than the passenger. The woodgrain reflects this as it is faded on the drivers side, but really nice on the passenger side. This truck found its way to me when I was trying to make a deal on another jeep locally. The seller mentioned it and a vague description on were it was parked so I went searching. Black wagoneers are about as common as my 1982 6 cyl. wag. They just don't exist. I finally found it and talked the old timer out of it. What really sold me on this jeep was under the hood, everything was intact, missing nothing, underhood insulation was there, fan shroud was there, the original intake hose was there (I took it off, it was deteriorated and probably doing more damage than good) The owner was reluctant to let it go, He had pictures of it on his office wall from fishing trips long ago. Exactly what you would expect from a guy that loves his jeep. It smokes a little on startup, but I would to if I had 174K miles on me. It runs out nice once it is warmed up. I had the carb. rebuilt 2 weeks ago when a vacuum leak started and it wasn't running 100%. The carb was leaking gas and had cracks in the gaskets. I have put approx. 400 miles on it since then. I really drive it every day so the miles are going up. This jeep has spent its whole life in St. George Utah, It retains its factory paint, that in many places showing clearcoat peal. The right rear quarter behind the rear wheel has some rust. This can easily be fixed with the small patch panel offered by any of the major Wagoneer sites. I had it estimated to fix the whole rear corner at $400. That included the little bend in front of the right rear wheel also repaired and primered Black. I bought this Jeep to take my kids camping in, tow the boat, drive to the mountain. I haven't put much thought into making it really fancy. Everything works, I have replaced all the power window motors, the rear glass work with the switch. I don't have any door keys, The previous owner broke them off in the locks. I do have another set of locks to go in with keys, just need to find a few minutes to put them in. The heater motor makes some noise, but still works fine, The A/C works but isn't real cold, I just put new wipers on it. The wheels you see on it are off of a 1983 and have studless snow tires (these wheels and tires are NOT included with the jeep). The factory gold centered alloys that have Big O all season tires mounted (2 are new) will be on it when it is picked up. 4 gold caps for the gold wheels are included also. there is a pic included. You could probably drive this one anyplace without to much worry, I do....everyday!!! The seats are torn up on the driver and passenger bases, the rest is in decent shape. both power seats work, radio works, mirrors work, headliner was in my face when I got it, so the material is gone, cardboard headliner is in good shape ready for a recover. I replaced all the roofrack grommets so it is leak free. One thing to note, This is the only jeep I drive, it is licensed, registered, and insured in my name. OK, I listed above anything that may be a negative, mostly lots of miles, most of these jeeps this old all have the same issues, most sellers try to make the best of it and leave you in the dark thinking you are getting something greater than what is really for sale. Just remember a wagoneer that is supposed to have a rebuild engine and 175k on the odometer is a lie without paperwork to back it up. It's better to be straight up and make sure you know what you are getting than have guilt and some guy mad at me for not being honest. Questions you are about to ask. Does it have any rust? VERY LITTLE, only on the right rear quarter. $400 fix. Will it make it accross the country? YES, with a knowledgeable Jeep junkie anything is possible. This one, probably without issue! Will you drive it to me in Florida? NO, not a chance in Hell!!! I'm to busy with life!!! Will you sell it oversees? YES, I have a clean and clear Utah Title and can get it shipped to the Port of Los Angeles for $250 How long can you store it? DEPENDS, do you have an unlimited amount of cash? mostly YES, outside storage $50 per month. I am going to list all of my jeeps - again! What else do you want to know? Just ask! send me an email / text / or if you speak english as well as a first grader call me. Gary 503.860.forty fifty This is as cheap as it gets, quit stalling and start bidding. this is just stupid to list it this low....come get it!
