up for bids is this 1992 Honda Prelude 1992 HONDA PRELUDE SI ALB/SR 2.3L 5-speed type 1 transmission. Black, white cloth seats, fairly decent interior condition, it has power windows, power moon roof, has a stage 2 racing clutch, zero or deleted catalytic converter with pipes straight to the exaughst, the body has some typical rust spots here and there, fenders have some dents, hood is dented and held down with hood clips, it needs a little repair around the headlight, one headlight is a accord headlight, there are dents, dings, and scratches on the body so its not a perfect showcar. for instance you can see in one of the pics that one of the fenders was dented by a previous owner but its nothing that would affect its driveability, there is a tear in the drivers seat which could be sewn back together, i think it has a non-stock header in it but im not sure because i dont know cars, the prelude has new CV axles, many new parts too many to list, new timing belt, good tires in the rear, whole engine has been almost completely rebuilt, it has a knock or engine noise. it started when my friend jumped the battery and i thought i heard a knock in the engine but i am not a mechanic and i do not know for sure exactly what it is or how much it would cost to fix it. i checked the oil and it seems ok to me so i am selling it as is, no returns assuming someone will have the engine repaired or mount in a different one. this car can start and drive but has some engine issues therefore im selling it as is or as a parts car. i dont recommend driving it far because of the engine noise. some people around town have told me it would cost a couple hundred or less if i were to fix it but again im not a mechanic so i just want to sell it as is even will turn over and start. maybe if someone has the inclination they could drop a new engine into it or fix the engine. i was told the engine was almost fully rebuilt but i have no idea of car mechanics other than im learning that jdm honda parts are worth alot. i would recommend towing or putting this car onto a trailer and getting it worked on before driving it much though im not good at mechanics maybe it will drive for awhile i do not know. if you would like to ship the prelude im working on setting that up on the listing please e-mail me any questions you may have about the prelude. also i will block bidders with little to negative feedback as well as bidders who retract bids. this could be a great car for someone who likes preludes and knows mechanics and has the time money and inclination for fixing it. thanks for looking and happy bidding here is a link to more about decoding prelude vin#s http://hondaswap.com/general-tech-articles/decoding-vin-numbers-29059/ runs and drives however, i have parked and have not been driving it because battery needs a jump and has some engine noise, open title if you want to buy parts off this car please let me know because thats also maybe a possibility because for example the rims, racing clutch, transmission and many many oem jdm prelude parts are worth far more than what im asking for in the reserve so happy bidding and thanks for looking!
