Vehicle Detail
Classic Windward blue 60s muscle convertible. With only 11,649 Firebird convertibles produced in 1969 it is difficult enough finding a 1969 convertible now, but finding one with a factory four-speed Muncie M21 (Hurst Shifter) and hood tach is a bonus. Dark blue with white top, dark blue interior. The 1969 is unique (one-year only body style), it stands out from the competition. The engine starts right up, settles into a smooth idle, and is ready to go anywhere. Near stock condition with some tasteful and useful upgrades. I would not hesitate to drive this car to Michigan today. Fly in to Sunny Los Angeles and drive your classic Firebird home to anywhere the road will go! Added bonus: insurance is dirt cheap, my current annual policy premium is less than $200. Engine was rebuilt a couple years ago (10k miles ago) with mild upgrades. The car is smooth, strong, and surprisingly fast. The suspension is tight, power steering with short ratio W56 steering box and brakes are excellent (four wheel disc brakes). It is just as comfortable out on the open road at 70 MPH as it is around town or cruising the beach. Included with the sale of the car is PHS documentation as well as a clean California title. Has CA year-of-manufacture (YOM) black plate which will go with the car. This car was ordered with the following options: o 4-Speed Manual Transmission w/ Hurst Shifter o Hood-Mounted Tachometer o Push Button AM/FM Radio o Folding Rear Seat & Headrests o Deluxe Steering Wheel o Console & rally gauge package o Power antenna o Fold-down rear seat o Power disc brakes (front) o 14" Rally II Wheels Several quality upgrades have been added to this Firebird since new including: o Rebuilt Pontiac 400 engine (1973) o Power steering w/ short ratio W56 Box o Four-wheel disc brakes (added rear) o 15"- Pontiac Rally II wheels o Stainless steel (356) dual exhaust o Front and rear anti-sway bars o Chrome 10-Bolt Rear-End Cover o Factory correct H.O. Long-Branch Exhaust Manifold (ceramic coated silver) o Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold o 15"- Pontiac Rally II Wheels o Chrome 10-Bolt Rearend Cover o Rochester Quadrajet Carburetor o Too much other stuff to list, will include full dossier of documentation The car has a crack in the paint above right rear wheel opening (pictured). Otherwise it shines very nice and looks great. Glass is in great shape and is scratch free. The car runs and drives well. The transmission shifts smoothly. The power steering works effortlessly. The car tracks straight. The top is in decent shape (small 2" tear above left rear window). The interior of the top shows age (discolored). Power top opens and closes great, hydraulic cylinders were replaced last year, pump was checked out at that time and working fine. The interior is in nice original shape. Seats are good and free of any rips. The dash pad has about three nicks no longer than 1.5”. The fold down seat operates like it should. The interior lights all work including HOOD TACH, instrument cluster lights, heater control lights and under dash lights. The trunk is in great shape with no signs of repair. The underside has some rust in spots as you would expect in a 40 year old convertible. The floor pans are original. Front and rear springs were replaced recently and look new, along with SS exhaust, front and rear sway bars, gas shocks, and poly urethane suspension bushings. Otherwise, everything looks original underneath. Owned by middle-aged mechanical engineer who worked for GM in Detroit. Intended to keep this classic forever, but now need to sell due to unfinished home remodel, his loss is your gain. The car is sold without a warranty in as-is condition. Current odometer reading may not reflect actual miles on vehicle. I recommend inspection before buying. Please feel free to ask any questions. Email me and/or send me your contact number and I will be glad to talk to you about the car. Thanks and good luck! PS: Being in Los Angles, car has been cast in a few music videos. Accessory lights in glove box and trunk working.
