Vehicle Detail
1982 Wagoneer Limited This wagoneer was optioned with the hard to find 4.2L - 6 cyl. engine along with the optional NP208 transfer case and factory jeep hubs. This allows it to run in true 2WD, 4WD High, or 4WD Low. To Jeep enthusiasts this was the best combination ever put into a full size jeep. It was said and advertised that this setup would get 25-28 miles per gallon. The listing was pre-populated by the vin, so it automatically put the 5.9 V8 field in above. This was a factory installed 6 cyl wagoneer! I found this Jeep approx. 2 years ago in Las Vegas, NV. It had just been driven down from Portland Oregon and a friend of mine saw it for sale and sent me the info. I bought it sight unseen, undriven, and was basically told a bunch of lies, when I went to pick it up everything was just a shade different....not in my favor. Oh well, I love these Jeeps and have never even seen another 6 cyl. one for sale. It started right up and seemed to run decent, (engine was supposed to be fresh, with less than 5000 miles on it) I put it into gear and found out real fast 1st gear was gone. No big deal, I only had 110 miles to go before I was home. Really, it made it no problem once it was rolling down the Interstate. The paint was faded, the interior was destroyed, and it had the ugliest wheels I had ever seen.... Well.....thousands of dollars and countless hours later the wagoneer before you is what it has become. Here is what has been done so far. Complete repaint, Basecoat / Clearcoat in the original Sherwood Green factory Jeep color. This was done with all the exterior chrome and bumpers removed in a $100K+ paintbooth. Rebuilt transmission, replaced and installed, new fluid, filters, shifts through all the gears like it should. Done by our reputable local transmission shop. Jeep Alloys - these came off an 84 I believe, installed with Brand New Kumho XL 235/75R-15 whitewall radials, less than 25 miles on them now. The seats are out of a 1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, they aren't perfect, but alot nicer than the old torn up seats. I just changed the oil and the serpentine belt. I drove it home and washed it and shined the tires, I didn't vacuum the inside or dust anything off, NO overdetailing has been done. The way you see it is the way it will look when you pick it up. Here is what still needs to be done. This Wagoneer has been sitting in storage now for almost a year. I charged the battery and drove it home with no issues, only a few miles. I think the carb needs rebuilt and a general tune-up to make it run excellent. It is a little sluggish to start after it has been sitting. The power steering pump bracket doesn't look correct to me, it works fine, but the pump sits basically sideways and has a hose attached to the top so it does not leak out. I can't even imagine it was designed like that? It works, but I don't think it is right. I have all the stainless trim, piece missing on the right rear and around the windshield, they just need put back on. In the back are the included parts.....the ugly wheels that came on it 15 X 8 chrome directionals, a complete carpet kit out of an 1985 Grand Wagoneer. I can't recall if it has any seatbelts, although I think it at least has one for driver and passenger. I have a Very nice set (all 4) door panels and all the hardware (armrests) that are nutmeg and would be a great improvement from what you see. The dash is ugly and has a hole in the center were the speaker grill once was. The gas guage doesn't seem to work. The rear tailgate glass doesn't go down with the switch on the dash. I don't think I even have a key for the doors or tailgate switch. Ignition only. OK, that is all the negative things I can come up with, most of these jeeps this old all have the same issues, most sellers try to make the best of it and leave you in the dark thinking you are getting something greater that what is really for sale. It's better to be straight up than have guilt and some guy mad at me. Questions you are about to ask. Does it have any rust? NO, it came from Oregon and is really clean underneath as well. Will it make it accross the country? YES, with a knowledgeable Jeep junkie anything is possible. Will you drive it to me in Florida? NO, not a chance in Hell!!! I'm to busy with life!!! Will you sell it oversees? YES, I have a clean and clear Oregon Title and can get it shipped to the Port of Los Angeles for $250 How long can you store it? DEPENDS, do you have an unlimited amount of cash? mostly YES, outside storage $50 per month. I am going to list all of my jeeps!! What else do you want to know? Just ask! send me an email / text / or if you speak english as well as a first grader call me. Gary 503.860.forty fifty AWESOME!!!! I know I am going to regret doing this and might be a complete dumbass for it, but $2500 and NO RESERVE!!!! I have more than that into the new paint and new tires. I don't really care at the moment, I want a new engine for my hotrod!
