Nice 1984 Mercedes Benz S-Class 380 SE ~ Gas Engine! Complete and Ready for your Restoration! (Great as a parts car, too!) This was a daily driver until a fuel line sprung a leak last spring and I parked it in my yard! I intended to restore it but have lost interest and have no time for this project so my laziness can be a great gain for you! I bought this car back in January of 2002 from my wife's Uncle. He had a stroke and could no longer drive. I got it with about 152,000 miles on it. I drove it everyday to and from work, but the round trip was only 6 miles hence the relatively low miles! Title search shows "not actual miles" because the vehicle has exceeded it mechanical limits. I don't know what that means! I have been told the 380 SE is rather rare for it was only made for a couple of years and even harder to find in this gas-engine model! Here is what I can tell you about the condition currently... The car is not running and must be towed away by the High Bidder! The Battery is dead and the gas tank is probably empty. The fuel line is cracked somewhere just behind the front driver-side wheel well. The clear coat is peeling off in some spots and there is some rust showing under the paint, but no terrible rot! Interior smells musty (like old leather and butt!). The seats are hard, faded and torn. The dash and wood show wear, cracks and such. The tires are old and dry rotted but still holding air. Bumpers have some rust holes. Rear windshield has those weird foggy, yucky corners in the lower left and right. Here is what I can tell you about when I was driving it... I put a new catalytic converter, muffler and o2 sensor on it back in 2003. I took the original radio out and put in a cheapo CD player in 2005. Car started and ran dependably every day but seemed to idle a bit high! I replaced the sunroof motor and wiper motor in 2007. I did a brake job in 2008. I changed the oil every 3000 miles! Here's a bunch of other possibly useful tidbits I know and remember... The power antenna never worked. The power locks always opened but never locked the back doors. The fronts always worked fine. The cruise control never worked. Sunroof worked but moved slow. Fog lights worked. A/C worked but don't bet on it now! Motor was always really strong. Transmission always worked smooth as expected. Dash Clock always worked but never kept good time! Power windows work well. Still has original spare, jack and tool kit. Still has the owner's manual that came with car, but it's for a Diesel and this one is a gas model. The title is clear for this vehicle and in-hand!
