Vehicle Detail

I am selling this “not your average” beautiful, red ‘53 coupe frame off restoration for my friend Lew who restored this car about 3 years ago. He began with a ‘62 GT Hawk frame (which has more strength than the ‘53 frame), used all Hawk running gear beginning with the brakes, finned drums, all new shoes, rebuilt wheel cylinders and rebuilt master cylinder, front & rear suspension, as well as 3:31 differential, all new shocks, custom made and balanced one-piece drive shaft. The transmission is a Borg Warner world class T5 five- speed. With the 5th gear overdrive and 3:31 rear, it turns about 2400 rpm’s at 75 mph on the freeway. It sports a 259 full flow bored 60 over completely rebuilt 1962 Hawk engine by one of the best machine shops (Eastside Machine) in AZ. It has a new water pump, rebuilt starter, Petronix electronic ignition, AFB Carb. & 3 row core radiator. This is a rust-free Arizona ’53 coupe with new paint and all re-chromed trim & bumpers. Lew used good looking ’54 tail lights, as well as installed a new windshield, and new gray smoked tinted flat side glass (tinted glass not filmed). Interior has new Kenwood stereo equipment with speaker box in the truck. Its upholstered in new dark vinyl and light gray, fabric Hawk front bucket seats, and matching stock ’53 rear seats, ’62 Hawk console and white headliner, new black carpeting inside as well as in the trunk, ’62 Hawk dash with Tach., working fuel, temperature, amp, and oil pressure gauges and (non-working) clock. This is more than your average ’53 coupe. I drove this car about 15 miles since its total restoration so I can attest that it runs and drives great! Lew is an older gentleman who is downsizing his Studebaker collection.
