Vehicle Detail
1980 Chevrolet Corvette with 47K original miles, immaculate condition. Here is your chance to own a BEAUTIFUL Corvette that is red on red with t-tops and the 350 cu in.L82. This is a rare car that will only go up in value and with the low miles it is a sound investment. Car originally bought near Dallas Texas where it spent most of it's life until I purchased it and brought it to Ohio. I keep this pristine Corvette stored in a climate controlled building. Never in any foul weather, which to me includes rain. This car has outstanding paint, a very nice engine compartment and again only 47K original miles. The engine block still wears most of it's original blue paint. No rust anywhere underneath this beautiful Corvette. The factory air blows ice cold and the 8 track works which comes with 8 tracks in the factory holder in the glove compartment. I have all documentation from when this car was new including the original Sales order written 4-15-80 sold at Charles Clark Chevrolet in McAllen Texas. Original warranty cards including tire warranty card and owners manual. Not reprints, the original documentation for this car including the original tank sticker which has been laminated. There were 40,614 1980 Corvettes built of which only 5069 of them had the L82 High performance engine option. This is the LAST year for the L82 high performance 350 cubic inch V8. This is also the last Corvette that is not computer controlled or fuel injected. This car has been babied and it's engine is completely stock including all emissions equipment intact and working correctly. It has been meticulously maintained, all fluids changed before every season and inspected. This car needs nothing other than a new owner. You are welcome to come inspect the vehicle and take it for a drive weather permitting of course. After several years of weight increases, the 1980 Corvette was lighter because of lower density roof panels, reduced thickness in hood and outer doors, and use of aluminum for the differential housing and cross member. Air conditioning became standard. 1980 was the last full production year Corvettes were built in St. Louis before moving the assembly line to Bowling Green, KY. The last L82-is a prime collectable, since only 5,069 were built. This car has the most desirable options AU3,K30,L82,N90,QGB,UM2,U75,U81 This is a numbers matching car, clean and clear title. Bid with confidence, I have been on E-bay for several years with 100% positive feedback. I would be more than happy to discuss this car with any serious bidder, message me and I will respond within 24 hours. 1980 Options: RPO Description Quantity Retail 1YZ87 Base Corvette Sport Coupe 40,614 $13,140 AU3 Power Door Locks 32,692 $140 CC1 Removable Glass Roof Panels 19,695 $391 C49 Rear Window Defogger 36,589 $109 FE7 Gymkhana Suspension 9,907 $55 F51 Heavy Duty Shock Absorbers 1,695 $35 K30 Cruise Control 30,821 $123 LG4 305ci, 180hp Engine (required in California) 3,221 -$50 L82 350ci, 230hp Engine 5,069 $595 MM4 4-Speed Manual Transmission 5,726 $0 MX1 Automatic Transmission 34,838 $0 N90 Aluminum Wheels (4) 34,128 $407 QGB White Letter SBR Tires P225/70R15 26,208 $62 QXH White Letter SBR Tires P255/60R15 13,140 $426 UA1 Heavy Duty Battery 1,337 $22 U58 AM-FM Radio, stereo 6,138 $46 UM2 AM-FM Radio, stereo with 8-track 15,708 $155 UN3 AM-FM Radio, stereo with cassette 15,148 $168 UP6 AM-FM Radio, stereo with CB 2,434 $391 U75 Power Antenna 32,863 $56 UL5 Radio Delete 201 -$126 U81 Dual Rear Speakers 36,650 $52 V54 Roof Panel Carrier 3,755 $125 YF5 California Emission Certification 3,221 $250 ZN1 Trailer Package 796 -$105 http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1980/Chevrolet/Corvette/2-Door-Coupe-L82/Values What is an L-82? RARE !!!! The L-82 made it's debut in 1973 as the successor to the original LT-1. With a 9.0:1 compression ratio, 2.02-inch intake/1.60-inch exhaust valves, and hydraulic lifters, it was rated at 250 net horsepower at 5,200 rpm and 285 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The L-82 has large port cylinder heads, pushrod guide plates, a long duration camshaft, a forged-steel crankshaft, molly rings, finned aluminum valve covers, a high capacity starter and a four-bolt block. Horsepower ratings varied from year to year as Chevrolet attempted to meet changing emissions and fuel economy requirements. L-82 horsepower ratings ranged from a high of 250 in 19'73-19'74 to a low of 205 in 19'75. In 1980, it's last year of production, the L-82 was rated at 230 horsepower. Do you need to determine if you Corvette is really an L-82? Here's a simple way to decode your VIN. number. However, this only works for 1973 - 1980 Corvettes. First, here are a few facts about VIN. numbers: Each Corvette has a unique Vehicle Identification Number and they are assigned in sequence, starting with one, during production. The last 6 digits of the VIN make the Corvette unique. This number is the Production Sequence Number.
