Vehicle Detail

1968 porsche 912, 32,425 original miles, 5 speed, 4 wheel disk brakes and 4 wheel independent suspension, vdo gauges, dual carbs, all original equipment in 1968,way ahead of the times. was the 400th car of the line at the Karmann plant in west germany. been in storage for the last 20 years out of the weather, like a time capsule. great unrestored car. perfect car to bring back to show quality.I was told it ran great when it was parked, and it had the carbs rebuilt a couple of years ago,but the engine is currently locked up from sitting, havent tried to free it up.I have been told that they normally free up easily without any problems.the body is good, has one dent on the drivers door pillar about the size of a half dollar, and some surface rust on the front bumper, the floor pans and under carrage appear to be very solid. I haventt doen anything with the car exept buy it, thought i would have time to fix it up,but thats not happening. so its just in the way for me.with little tlc this will be a great peace of history.for those of you that dont know these cars were built as a cheaper version of the 911,and look just like them. note, the passenger side rear quarter is just dirty in the pics that is not rust, there is a small spot on the passenger side where the paint is chipped and you can see primer, but no rust any questions you can call me at 573-517-8443 thanks craig would consider trades for?cars,4x4 truck, utv, motorcycle, guns, who knows try me. but nothing that i would have to fix,if I wanted to do that I would keep my porsche. for sale locally, may end auction early,so bid if you want it. dont wait tell the end it may be to late. sold as is,come look at it if you want before you bid. all bids are a done deal, deadbeats will be delt with through everyway possible. On Apr-18-11 at 12:22:26 PDT, seller added the following information:I have had some e-mails asking for the engine number, it is 1280285. also I had a comment about verification of the original miles. I dont have written proof, but I was told from the freind I got it from,he bought it from the son of the original owner.and had no reason to lie to me.also by the shape of the seats and floor mats, which do not have wear on them it ,give me no dought about the miles being correct. AGAIN I INVITE ANYONE INTERESTING IN BIDDING ON MY CAR TO COME LOOK AT IT BEFORE YOU BID. AND ANY QUESTIONS ASK FIRST,THEN BID. THANKSOn Apr-18-11 at 13:27:34 PDT, seller added the following information:PLEASE CALL ME OR E-MAIL ME,BEFORE YOU BID (I HAVE HAD OUT OF COUNTRY BIDDERS,AND MISTAKES IN BIDDING ALREADY) I WOULD LIKE TO BE IN CONTACT WITH ALL SERIOUS BIDDERS TO AVOID THOSE DEADBEATS THAT WE ALL KNOW ARE OUT THERE. THANKSOn Apr-20-11 at 20:03:31 PDT, seller added the following information:OPENED THE HOOD TODAY, AND FOUND THE FACTORY TOOL BAG WITH SOME TIRE TOOLS AND SUCH IN IT. HAS THE JACK AND CHROME SPARE THERE TO. THE INSIDE OF THE TRUNK LOOKED REAL GOOD AND SOLID,ALL THE CARPET LOOKED REAL GOOD. THERE WAS A LITTLE RUST TOWARD THE FRONT OF THE CAR UNDER THE MAT,UP FRONT WERE THE SPARE IS LOCATED. IT IS JUST ON THE SURFACE AN IS STILL SOLID, THE REST WAS NICE AND RUST FREE.
