Vehicle Detail
here is a 1970 SS 396 chevelle numbers matching fathom blue with white stripes. This is a three owner car, classic story first owner came home from vietnam and bought this car drove it till mid 80's.then sat in his barn till another local guy who owned a tire shop bought car.have a stack of reciepts from all the work he did, full gm floorpans, interior,etc.etc.etc.to get car back to street status.car was painted once in the 80's blue only not the stripes they are original,i know, original owner said guy didnt know how to paint stripes lol(thats when i would have wheeled my chevelle out of body shop)anyway tire shop guy had to part with some of his toys thats when my dad bought this car.my dad had the original motor the 402 rebuilt has its original m20 muncie and its original 3:31 12 bolt posi.carb not original newer edlebrock quadrajet replacement.my father has had this car 11 yrs garaged its whole time with him. garaged with tire guy to.also garaged by original owner through the 80's.This car was purchased from allen chevrolet have original sales reciept, protecto plate still stuck to warrenty card ,the original 1970 sales ad car is well documented cowl induction works originally a no powersteering car but that was added later.car is in real good survivor/driver shape.car is definatley not show quality real good 10'er still looks good in pics drives real straight shifts good no synchro grinds or anything like that.never has had rear quarters nor would i ever doors and jambs are mint doors shut solid and tight.i noticed after my old man had car for like a year the passenger front fender is from a 1971(no marker light)dont ask me i dont know why they did that it was the crazy 80's when all that went down.when i pulled spare tire out to show trunk I couldnt believe the original spare was a rallye wheel with trim ring on it with a1970 something bias ply from sears, and original jack,I never pulled it out before(it aint my car why would I?) still pretty surprised.sure i am forgetting something car has been around town forever with only three owners and i dont think tire guy ever registered it so title probaly only shows 2 .oh yeah one thing worth mentioning is i think rear body mount behind driver seat is gone.drove it the other day and could hear it thunkin. headers are real nice ceramic coat headers that have seen better days thought collecter gasket was leaking turns out it the collecter itself, headers junk like i said not my car just tryin to be straight up.car is in mass by all means i would encourage a trip to see for yourself
