1974 Honda CB

You are looking at a 1974 Honda CB 450 DOHC motorcycle with 14,500 miles on it. It sat under a tarp for about 3 years. The engine and transmission were working when it was used last. I learned that the previous owner jump started it from a car and got some wire damage. I spotted an electrical component, possibly a coil, with a hole in the insulation and the wire within broken. The air box is present, but was not in place. I pulled a mouse nest from that area. The linkages are stiff, it does roll, but stiffly. I kicked the starter and the engine turned over. I heard air moving. I see some scuffing on the headlight ring, so it may have gone over at least once in it's life. The tires held air while in storage, but I would assume you woud want fresh ones before taking it on the road. From my description, you get the idea that it needs some work before your first joy ride. The tank and side covers are included. I just added two pictures showing the inside of the gas tank. I can get a clear title by the time you come to pick it up. I was told that just the parts including the tank are valuable. I have good memories of riding a bike just like this back in the late 60's. It was the biggest available from Honda. 350CC machines were common as fleas, even out in North Dakota. The 450 could out run them of course. I had one up to 105 mph and it could have done more if I was even more foolish, and if the engine had been tuned better. I decided to sell it as it rather than do all the steps necesary to get it running again. Please email me with any questions.
