Up for auction is this very cool 69 Firebird 400 car. Its a very desireable color combination of Matador Red with Parchment deluxe interior. The colors are original according to the PHS documents and the trim tag. [52-52] paint and [217] trim. Its an all original matching numbers car. The VIN number is present on the block and transmission. The block code is WZ with casting 62 heads,original intake but has a replacement quadrajet dated from 1972. Original M20 wide ratio 4 speed trans and the original Safe-T-Track rear. The gears are 355 I believe. The firebird was repainted in 1986 and was used as a display in a pontiac dealership showroom for the next 20 years. The interior is all original and still in very nice survivor condition showing a little wear. I would never touch it personally because repro interiors are just not correct. Floor pans and trunk floor are original and appear to be rust free. The car is a great driver that you can drive anywhere and do local shows. The body is very straight and the paint still shines like new. Bumpers are original and so is the glass. Its just a nice old firebird that was never abused with a repaint. The engine runs fantastic and the clutch is easy and smooth. The 4 original date coded JK wheels are still with the car. The front bumper is the correct one as are the grilles correct for a true 400 car. I added the Formula wheel but have the original one if so desired.
