1969 Cutlass Supreme Muscle car. This is one of the nicest driving cars on the road. I bought this from the widow,(Joyce Connel) of one an old car club member that passed recently. Jim had done a really nice $24,000 job of retoring the car from top to bottom. Although not show quality,it's lazer straight, solid as a rock,and super tight.The 350 ROCKET motor was rebuilt and blue printed. He put a nice cam in it for extra umph and sound. He spent $7000 on a beautiful gold pearl over the top of the stock 69 Olds Crimson red. It get's alot of looks. He redid the complete interior,and also shaved the door and trunk handles.They operate manuelly and on cylinoids. He put a nice sound system in too,but did so without any cutting.The car came stock with A/C which still works fine.We replaced all the o-rings,dryed it and recharged it. Also we rebuilt the carb. and put new exaust manifolds on it, and she sounds superb. She really needs nothing and will give some lucky person alot of years of service,and fun. I wish I could keep her,as a long time Olds guy,I really wanted to rescue her from sitting idle 2 years. But we just downsized into a 850 sq.ft beach cottage and I had to choose between the Cutlass, or my 1942 76 Vista Cruiser. I kept the reserve within reason,and I hope someone will enjoy her as much as I have. Just got back from 2 car shows in her,and she didn't skip a beat after two 3 hour drives. I want to answer some of them here.Why do I say it's not show quality? The main reason is that it has some blistering on a few area's while not visible to most are there,and on the trunk has some seperation of the clear coat on the top edges. Also it has a vinyl top which while very cool looking,are notorious for holding moisture,and if you wanted to bring this car back right it woud need to be removed,and rust addressed and redone.I did have some stress cracks in it,which we permatexted and easally paint matched back, but on the roof rear ledges there is raised spots. It really depends on what you want to do.I personally would drive and enjoy it like it is for another decade,and then address it,but some guys want show quality.This isn't,and the reserve will show it...
