I have had several XJ'S and this is my favorite. I put over 100,000 miles on my first XJ12. I then searched for this car for a long time until I found one in great shape with low miles. I bought it from a man in Connecticut that had it for many years and put very few miles on it. It was garaged for all those years and has been since I bought it. I have lost my garage and have reluctantly decided to sell the car. This car was one of a limited edition that carried the "Lister" name (Lister was a race car builder in England, I found out.)--having special spoilers all around, wheels with the lister name, and my mechanic says that minor engine modifications were made for peak performance. I do not know much more than that. The front spoiler is gone, but the side and rear and trunk spoiler are there. These can also be removed for a more conventional body style. Since I bought it, I have replaced lugs and wires distributor cap, reconditioned the gas tank, had the transmission rebuilt. ( I was told that the transmission suffered from sitting for long periods) It has new tires and a new battery. Known problems:Cruise control works intermittently--Mechanic says probably a loose wireFront brakes nearing time for new pads and turn the rotorsAluminum wheels have some corrosionCenter console wood is cracked--(Replacements are available) Paint is impeccable--Rear trunk spoiler is polyurethane and has some cracking on the paint It is ready to drive to any destination, though I hate to see it go. I will accept cashiers check or pay pal for payment.
