Vehicle Detail

This car is a 1969 Camaro Z-10 Coupe. The Z-10 Coupe is based on the more common Z-11 Convertible Indy 500 Pace Car. Between 200-300 of the Z-10 variant were built in 1969, making it far more common than the Z-11. The only Camaro that is harder to find is a COPO variant. The car is in great condition for a car of this age that has never had a full restoration. It has a scrape on the left hand front fender, and a small dent in the right hand front fender. It has a small rust hole just behind the left rear wheel well. There is a crack in the paint on the hood, but the metal underneath is straight. There is a similar paint crack on the left rear fender. The paint is original. One body panel was replaced in the early nineties, it matches the white paint, but doesn't have the "hugger" orange stripes on it. This is an RS/SS model, so it has hide-away headlights. They need refurbishing to work properly, but all of the parts are there. It has original wheels with all of the hub-caps. Most of the chrome is on the car, though it is missing the left hand side "350" emblem. The grill chrome needs to be clipped back on, the same for the right-hand tail-light chrome, but both chrome pieces are straight and in good condition. There is a driver's side mirror, but no passenger side mirror--it didn't come with one. The car is equipped with a Chevy small-block 350. The engine is not numbers matching, but it is the same model of engine that the car originally came with. The rest of the drive-train is original. It runs perfectly, and the engine rumbles like an earthquake. The exhaust system is clean, with no visible rust. Needs a new windshield wiper fluid container. The interior is in pretty good shape. One of the seams in the headliner has come undone, but can be repaired easily. The carpet is sun-faded, as to be expected with a car that has lived in the desert it's entire life. The dash is perfect, however. The rear deck is good, except for a small stain. The instrument panels are intact. The speedo needs a new cable. The heater works, and the A/C should work with a recharge. The car has the original radio, though one of the knob holes needs reinforcing. This radio is not hooked up. The car also has an aftermarket Sony radio with a controller in the driver side sun-visor. It connects to a control unit in the trunk, with a CD changer (also in the trunk) and a cassette deck in the glove box. The CD changer needs a new disc cartridge, but still works. The cassette deck can be removed, and a iPod or other portable music player can be hooked up to the same cable that goes into the glove box. This radio will need speakers and an amplifier to work, but the wiring is there. It has a tilt-steering wheel, and a column shifter, which is a bit of a rarity on Z-10's, as most of the automatics came with floor shifters. The seats are in good shape, both front and rear. It has all of the original seat belts. Note that this car has the shoulder belts, but did not come with the receptacles for them. All of the windows roll down, and the locks work. It is not missing any rubber parts, so it seals up about as well as any car from this era did. The trunk liner disappeared at some point in the past, but is cheap to replace.Terms of the auction are simple: There is a reserve. You must pay a $1000.00 deposit through paypal with 48 hours of auction close. The rest of the balance should be paid before pick-up. If you pay the balance by personal check, you can pick up the car after your check clears. Payment needs to be received within 10 days of auction close. This is all pretty standard. If you have any questions, or need pictures of anything, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm also selling this locally, and reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells before the reserve is met. On Apr-12-11 at 21:49:04 PDT, seller added the following information: The second-to-last sentence of the first paragraph should say: "Between 200-300 of the Z-10 variant were built in 1969, making it far more rare than the Z-11." The rear-end is an original 12-bolt rear-end. On Apr-16-11 at 15:43:39 PDT, seller added the following information: The trunk pan, and spaces around the wheel wells are rust free. The only rust is on the fenders, behind the rear wheel wells, as already mentioned (and photographed.) As the auction has met the reserve, I've stopped any attempts at a local sale. Good luck bidding!
