Vehicle Detail
One of the rarest Classic Italian cars!! Folks, this is a very rare Fiat 1200 TV (Turismo Veloce) Spider which has just gone through an immaculate frameup restoration. This car has the original engine that matches the car, the engine number is identified on the VIN plate. The engine number is 103G.004 486925. The carburetor is also correct, it is a Weber Tipo 36DCD7. I have uploaded additional photos of the car and some restoration photos onto photobucket at http://s248.photobucket.com/albums/gg198/piccione11/Fiat%201200%20TV/ A 1959 Fiat 1200 TV recently went for at the last RM Monterrey auction for $60,500! These cars are definitely gaining in value. See http://www.extravaganzi.com/monterey-2010-gooding-smashes-records-at-pebble-beach-auction/ Here is some background information on the genesis of the 1200 TV from the carsfromitaly.net website. Trasformabiles - 1955 to 1959 The Geneva show of 1955 saw the presentation of a new 'Trasformabile' version of the recently introduced 1100 saloon. The mechanical parts remained the same as the TV version of the saloon, whilst the body was an all new two seater complete with period wrap-around windscreen. A total of 571 of these first series cars were built. In 1956 when the new 103E saloon was released changes cascaded across all the related models. The Trasformabile gained 3bhp and a slightly modified rear suspension. Production continued for another year, around 450 of these cars being built. The first significant change came in 1957 with the introduction of a new 1221cc engine. This was the same as used in the 1200 Granluce saloon (the replacement for the 1100TV). Small changes were also made to the front and rear bumpers. This model was built until 1959, with around 2,360 cars being produced. Going over this car with a white glove cosmetic inspection, there are some minor flaws. The rear license plate light fitting has the original recessed Fiat emblem, there is a crack in the clear urethane over the emblem. Also there are some chroming flaws in the license plate light fitting, the chrome company said that the old pop metal is difficult to chrome uniformly. The windshield and side windows do have some minor scratches. The left side vertical decorative chrome strip has some buffer scuffs on one edge. Also the left front headlight surround has a few chrome bumps. The car runs, drives, and shifts great. This car is nearly a concourse car. This car is great fun to drive and always gets attention! The car has a valid Utah title certificate, titled in my dealership name. Many parts for this car, if ever needed, are available in the US at www.fiatplus.com and at the eBay store http://stores.ebay.com/Everything-Fiat and some other locations in the US and online. As with all vintage cars, I cannot warrant odometer readings. I am a licensed and bonded car dealer and vintage car restorer in the State of Utah, Piccione's, #5869, which is important if you are financing the car through your bank, as dealer issued sales typically get lower interest rates than person to person sales. Financing may also available through eBay or some other online sources. Buyer pays for shipping (I can help arrange transport if you like, I have some cheap connections for various parts of the country). I highly recommend closed carrier transport, putting this vehicle on an open carrier opens up the risk of drippage from other vehicles and wind damage. Payment may be by certified bank check or money order, by wire transfer to bank account, or by loan check or personal check once cleared. Paypal is only acceptable through verified accounts for the initial deposit only. The buyer will submit a 5% of purchase price deposit within 72 hours of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle by PayPal or other verifiable payment method unless this requirement is waived by the seller after the auction end. Buyer agrees to pay the remaining balance due within 7 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle. Based on the age of the car I cannot warrant odometer readings. As all vintage cars I sell, I cannot warrant specific year, make and model. The car is available for inspection. Please remember that an eBay bid is a binding legal contract, not just some intention to consider purchase. Buyer is responsible (if applicable) for all state, county, city taxes and fees, as well as title/registration fees in the state that the vehicle will be registered in. Vehicle is sold as is and does not have warranty.
