Vehicle Detail
1984 Mercedes td wagon. Great candidate for biodiesel conversion. This car is in extremely good condition for it's age. Panel fit is very tight, paint is excellent. Very few dings/dents to speak of. Deep tire tread all the way around and two were put on less than 1k miles ago. The car is loaded with sunroof, third seat, tow package, roof rack, cruise control, TURBO. Everything works. If you're looking at this ad then you probably know how impressive these cars are. They need some tlc but absolutely run like a tank. I want to keep it but my partner insists on sticking with one vehicle so I will have to part with it for financial reasons. The car runs very smoothly. Suspension is what you'd expect from a much newer mercedes. The steering is solid with no extra play in it and it stops like it should. All electricals work perfectly except rear right window which is frozen shut. This can be fixed for a reasonable price. The pics speak for themselves. Interior exceeds expectations. The seats are in great shape. There are dash cracks but this is standard for this model. You can easily stitch up a nice dash pad for a few dollars and personalize/protect it for a great look. Transmission shifts like it should. These cars can have transmission issues so you will appreciate driving this one and feeling how smooth it shifts. Starts great in winter. The engine block warmer works like a charm on this car. This is a key component that you should always look into when shopping a diesel mercedes. I have done extensive repairs since I bought this car and have documentation. Here is a short list: Oil cooler lines, tranny flush, torque converter, hood pad, battery, alternator, belts, rear door lock, coolant flush, air filter and mounts, front and rear brake pads, rotors and sensors, adjust and replace valve cover gasket, brake booster, vacuum line and aneroid airtube, fuel filter replaced, axle pivot mount, new rear axles, front suspension overhaul, headlight gates, driveshaft center support and bearing, the list goes on. I know I won't get back what I have into this car so I'd like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it and care for this fine example of the w123 chassis model. This was truly one of the most durable mercedes models of all time. These cars go upwards of a million miles regularly. Original price tag was over $60k. I know it probably won't sell for my total repair cost but I'd like to see it go to a good home. Ok, here's for the bad stuff. There is a small crack located on the passenger side lower right corner near where the windshield meets the hood. The crack is about 3.5 inches long. I've been driving the car regularly and it feels like it will need an alignment within the next 30-60 days. Hood springs are missing so I have been using a hood prop when accessing the engine compartment. One of the rear blinker lenses is cracked. Shipping can be arranged depending on location. The car runs out beautifully so you are encouraged to have a test drive. On Apr-09-11 at 11:04:24 PDT, seller added the following information: *** Please note that the AC is not working, thanks.
