1940 Chevy Master 85 2dr Sedan....RARE! There were a lot of 1940 Chevy sedans manufactured....but not many Master 85's! This car was my grandfather's and was purchased on 05/08/50 from Brook's Pontiac, Co. in Winnfield, LA. THIS CAR HAS ONLY 70,416 ORIGINAL MILES!!!! It has a 6 cylinder with a vacuum 3-speed on the column. THE ENGINE IS NOT FROZE-UP! The car has been sitting under my grandfather's garage for 25-30 years. Just before put up for storage the body was completely redone and primered. The interior was completely redone with carpet, seats, etc. The engine was gone thru and running like a top. The car was parked until my grandfather could decided what color to have painted....and there she sat! Vehicle is in black primer. The body appears to be solid throughout. However, you can see in the pictures that the primer is wearing off. To be restored correctly, there is a spot in trunk that needs to be touched up again. The car does have the factory running boards. There is an extra gas tank that come with car. All 4 tires hold air! I moved the car to my house under the garage. Rolled the car under the garage with no problems. The interior needs nothing but cleaning. Fabric headliner and seats appear to be in perfect shape! The car will sell for lower than the appraised value. Antique appraiser today said even if the car did not have low mileage and if it needed major body repair....value was $5800 not running. It well sell for less!!!! The car was appraised as is at approx. $7,000. It will go for less!!! The serial # is S392248 and the motor # is 310056. I have original title, key, parts catalog from the 50's along with other old paperwork. I am selling the car as is because it has to be moved due to the house being sold. I know nothing about the vehicle except it will probable need tires. The vehicle/owner are both well known in the community. The service manager at a local Chevy dealership said probably could put battery, fresh gas/oil and it will be fine. Car was stored properly. The car is for sale locally and parties are interested.
