1978 Dodge Express Lil Red Truck. 49,000 ORIGINAL MILES. SOUTHERN TRUCK NO RUST, Original engine, Transmission, Drive line, Factory exhaust & stacks. Runs and drives as an Express should. This Truck is in super condition. The body is as straight as an arrow, the interior offers the hard to find optional bucket seats and is in great shape with no cracks in the dash. The driver door is missing the top of the hand rest. The truck was repainted at some time in its history. it is an excellent paint job but there is a little over spray in minor areas such as by the hood latch which can be easily corrected and i noticed a couple spots that I think were not buffed as good as they should have. *** BUT do not get me wrong the paint is really nice i am trying to disclose issues i would want to know about. The wood trim on the truck is in excellent condition. In the engine compartment the Ribbed plastic air tubes for the air cleaner are missing. The radiator overflow tank is not connected but comes with the truck. The trucks wooden bed is the Original and needs attention. It has a couple of bad spots but the bed is still solid and ok with the metal strips and bolts in perfect condition. . Complete replacement aftermarket wood beds are available for these trucks There is an high end aftermarket auxilliary fuel tank mounted in the bed which is functional. I dont know why someone would install a second fuel tank, the factory fuel tank is present and looks to be in new condition. Other than these minor items this Dodge Lil Red Express truck is as niceas you can find. My reserve price is LOW for a truck in this condition. NOTE: The 78 Dodge is a serious collector item with an estimated 800 original trucks left in existence. Barret- Jackson Auto Auctions has sold only 2 TWO 1978 Express pickups in the past 6 years and both sold for over 15K. the last one sold was 4 years ago. This can be verified on their website.
