Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE 1970 CHEVROLET 1-TON TOW TRUCK – NO RESERVE NR!! 1970 Chevy to truck with a 350 small block, 4-speed transmission and a Holmes 440 wrecker bed powered through a PTO from the transmission. To the extent of my knowledge, this truck was made in Fremont, CA and has never left the Bay Area. The Starter seems to function well but the starter solenoid most likely needs replacement. I do not believe the 2-barrel carb/intake combination is original, and lacks a functional choke. Power brakes and steering work perfectly without noise or fading. Rear end is GM 14 bolt. All light and gauges work, and a new battery will come with the truck. The clutch linkage may need some attention – the engagement is strong but requires increased RPMs to move. Overall, the sheetmetal appears to be in decent condition. The original paint looks to be red. A previous owner mounted external whip antennas on the cab as evidenced the access holes in both B pillars. Passenger side door has extra holes where different styles of rear view were mounted. The original bench seat was replaced with non-stock seats. The original dash pad is cracked. Glass is decent with no major flaws. One small rock chip in the windshield. Passenger side window regulator does not work properly – the glass is loose when the window is not all the way up. The cab bushings are probably in poor shape, but the truck comes with a set of new urethane bushings. The front wheels/tires DO NOT come with the truck! If the new owner is interested, a full set of Alcoa alloy wheels can be purchased for an additional cost. The rear wheels have been bead blasted and powder coated and should last almost forever with reasonable care. Payment will be through electronic funds transfer/bank wire within two days after the close of the auction, or cash on the day of pickup. The truck still shows CA plates, but current clean title and plates were changed to WA State. If you live in WA State, the collector plate requires no new tabs or fees. If you live in CA, this truck is exempt from smog checks. The truck is currently located near Vallejo, CA. Bidders with less than 10 positive transactions must contact the seller prior to bidding.
