Up for auction is a very bad@ss 1949 Ford Pickup (I guess it would fall under the ratrod side of things but is almost too nice to be considered a rat rod). Cab is a channeled 1949 Ford truck cab. Frame is a completely custom Z-ed box tubing. Drivetrain is 403 small block, TH400 and 8.5" Big 10 bolt from a 1978 Olds (Due to NCDMV titling system, car is titled as a 1978 Olds due to the drivetrain). Grill is from a 39 Desoto. Car sits low and looks mean. Springs and Pete and Jakes shocks are all new, gas tank is new. Motor has a new aluminum intake and water pump. Brand new Cadillac batwing air breather and air filter. Seat was just refoamed and recovered and looks very nice with the leather insert. Tires are brand new and have less than 1000 miles. Brand new headlights with built in turn signals (about $400 alone) Brand new billet Lokar shifter. Jack Daniels brake pedal. Lakester stlye headers with wicked bedrail exhaust. Motor sounds very mellow through exhaust but rattles off nicely with the header uncapped. Took it down to Nationals last year in Kentucky and drove around for about 500 miles without an issue (about 50 of those miles were uncapped)...little tight sitting 3 wide but we had a blast. Car got looks galore and offers to but but my Dad did not want to part with it at the time. He has started a 57 project and wants to let this loose to free up some funds. Current setup is red steelies with blackwall radials as shown in all other pictures. Also wanted to mention that the front end has a new disc brake setup from Speedway motors. The front windshield and gasket are brand new and the doors have brand new door seals. Front axle is a straight axle out of a 49 Ford. Has a working horn and push button start. Also has a trans cooler mounted inside the frame rails. The battery is mounted on the inside of the passenger side frame rail and has a brand new disconnect switch installed. The floor of the bed will lift up to access the fuel tank, rear axle, brakes, battery, etc. The spot lights installed in the front pillars are brand new "dummy" spot lights. The hood cover is Sunbrella material with stainless snaps. The doors do not have glass installed in them, they only have the door latching mechanisms. Winning bidder can have choice of which set of wheels they want...red with blackwalls or black with wide whites. Any other questions feel free to ask.
