Vehicle Detail
Exceptionally Rare 1978 Lincoln Mark V Cabriolet Convertible Up for bid, highly collectible, exceptionally rare 1978 Lincoln Mark V Cabriolet Convertible. A triple black beauty. This vehicle was specially constructed by American Custom Coachworks of Beverly Hills California. Vehicle was purchased new off the Lincoln dealership showroom floor, in 1978, at a cost of over $73,000. It has remained in the same family for over 30 years. It has always been either garaged or in an enclosed storage building and has never been hit or in an accident. The vehicle has been owned and driven by an elderly gentleman. Vehicle is unmolested and shows no signs of abuse or misuse. The hood, doors and trunk open and close nicely they do not sag or look misaligned. In addition, there is no rust in the rockers, door jams, fenders, quarter panels etc., however, the paint does have a few chips and scratches. The drivetrain is in excellent condition and the engine is strong and the transmission shifts through all gears smoothly and both were rebuilt approximately 5,000 miles ago. At which time the AC compressor was removed and not reinstalled. The interior is still all original. The dash is very nice and has no cracks. The door panels are also original with no cracks, rips, or tears. The seats are black leather and in original condition, no rips, but some cracking on front driverside due to age and normal wear. The top canvas is solid with no rips tears or cracks. However, due to a recent leak in a hydraulic hose line the electric motor was disconnected. It is still intact in the vehicle. The repair will simply require a new plastic hose line an easy repair. The top can still be raised and lowered manually. All electrical components appear to be functioning properly. All windows work along with power seats, wipers, turn signals, lights, radio, heater, etc. Note: Odometer currently reflects 09285. However, I believe it is 109,285. While the engine and transmission were being overhauled the odometer cable somehow was stretched and is now not operating properly it should be replaced. Vacuum operated headlight doors are operating properly. If you have any other questions regarding the vehicle please feel free to e-mail me with them. A pay-pal account will be required to bid on this vehicle!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE FUNDS READILY AVAILABLE!!! NO EXCEPTIONS, ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!! VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD IN "AS IS" CONDITION "WHERE IS"! There are no warranties, written, expressed, or implied. Shipping cost and transportation arrangements will be the responsibility of the buyer!!! I reserve the right to end the auction early because the vehicle will also be advertised for sale locally. Don't miss this rare opportunity to own a valuable piece of automotive history!! Bid to Win!!!!
