1968 BMW R60/2

BMW R60/2 with clear 1968 Florida title. VIN # 6281** suggests '65-66 but it wasn't uncommon for bike to be title for year it was sold when new. This is a motorcycle in very original and correct condition. It does have an R69s front wheel with alloy rim and twin leading shoe front brake, coil ignition update and Campbells mufflers. Chassis paint appears original with some nicks scratches corrosion and minor touch ups. Tank looks to have been repainted at some time and has a small dent at right front lower but still has the original red coating inside in good condition. Seat has some fraying/ splitting around bottom edge but looks good and it very comfortable. Bike has new sealed 13 Amp-hour 6 Volt battery, tail , brake and high beam light work and charging system works. Left switch has tab missing, turn signal switch on right, flasher unit in headlight shell but no evidence of signals. Carburettors have just been cleaned after sitting for several years, bike starts easily, idles and rides nicely. Intermittent whirring noise from clutch area but this is the nicest gear change I've experienced on a BMW and the neutral light works. There is a little corrosion on the chrome here and there, most noticeably on the hub covers, left exhaust tip and right head pipe. Bike does not smoke when ridden but could probably benefit from a carb sync and general tune up. Tires have good thread but rear has some sidewall dry rot. Very pleasant and presentable motorcycle.
