Vehicle Detail

If you are looking for a fun toy that works great on road and off, look no further. This Jeep was built without skimping with half ass parts. This Jeep has been my daily driver for the past 2-1/2yrs, and I have wheeled it several times on difficult trails, (the body shows it) This still maintains stock axles, however all axle brackets has been replaced, and the axles have been rotated to allow for good pinion angles and still maintain good road manners. This is a great multi-use vehicle that you can have a lot of fun in. This Jeep certainly attracts attention. It is however time that I move on to the next project, so this one is now for sale, and I would rather have someone buy it and use it than see it sit and rot in storage where it will not be enjoyed at all. It is a 5 speed Cherokee, which is "rare" for 97-01 as most Cherokees are automatics. You are buying much more than just the Jeep with all the spare parts. For a lifted Jeep, this gets very good fuel economy. Don't expect your fuel mileage to be that of a tree hugging Prius though... This is for sale locally on Craigslist, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I am selling this with honesty. As you will read below, it is not perfect and will need some work done to it within the next 3-6 months. I do currently still drive this on a daily basis, so the mileage will end up being more than shown on this auction. The title for the Jeep does state "NOT THE ACTUAL MILEAGE", but it has no liens and was never a salvage vehicle or anything. Last year, it was involved in two very small accidents, however nothing serious and nothing that has effected it at all, beyond a small dent and some scratches. The Jeep does have a cracked windshield from a tractor trailer kicking up a rock on the thruway, it is pictured, and is off to the passenger side. The good: 4.0L 6cyl 5 Speed (transmission replaced in January) Clutch is brand new as of January. Last I checked (which was a while ago now) I was getting an average of 15.4MPG with this, which is not too bad. Radiator replaced last spring (March or April, I forget) 5.5"Rubicon Express long arm kit. All bracketry on both axles has replaced for strength and also for vibration free driveline angles. Front is Ballistic Fabrication's bracket kit, which was modified slightly to help retain the coils and reduce spring chatter Rear is a set of RE leaf perches to reduce axle wrap, and the shock mounts were cut off, then shortened probably around 4" before being welded back on, so the rear axle has lots of clearance for rocks! This is certainly not a detail many people even begin to consider when building their Cherokees. Has an AA slip yoke eliminator kit Installed the Novak transfer-case shifter in January to eliminate the z-gate and binding it used to have. Dana 30 front axle, with Aussie Locker, 4.10 gears, Moog ball joints for lifetime replacement when or if they wear out of otherwise fail. Chrysler 8.25" rear axle, currently running open for winter driving. The spiders that are in it are BRAND NEW as of December, also comes with a set of welded spiders (makes the rear axle work like it has a spool), 4.10 gears and rock crusher cast rear diff cover. Crager Soft 8 rims 15x8", 4" backspacing Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac 33x12.50R15 tires. Fronts are about 3/4 or better tread, rears are probably a touch under 1/2 tread. Tires wear evenly. Rears have more wear than fronts due to running the welded spiders during the summer. Full size matching spare with probably around 3/4 life. Custom bumpers. Front is winch-ready. Kenwood Radio has AM/FM/CD/MP3/iPod integration and a remote All steering linkage parts have been replaced in the past 4 months. Everything is NAPA lifetime. Custom tie rod was installed to withstand the trails I took it on. Comes with spare front and rear axle shafts (never even broke one, but one set of rears (fit either side which s nice!) and one set front, inner and outers for both sides), also spare rear drive shaft Comes with two replacement pairs of tinted rear quarter glass for both sides, I believe only one spare set of the rubber surronds though. Comes with original green tailgate, which is rotted much worse than the current tailgate. Was saving it for the glass if I ever broke it. Comes with a set of spare black rear doors, which are complete. Comes with a few pieces of spare wire harness. Comes with spare set of outer knuckles. Comes with spare steering linkage off a V8 Grand Cherokee Comes with any other XJ-specific parts I can find in the garage. The bad: 203,000 miles, but still runs strong. Needs O2 sensor(s?). This will likely improve the fuel economy Transmission recently replaced, the new one had a noise when I installed it early this year to replace the old transmission which had a corroded rear case half. I still have the old transmission and it will be included if you buy it. The noise went away for a month or so, but has returned. It has not seemed to have gotten any worse though. I just consider it an annoyance. Old transmission is noise free, but you would have to swap over the rear case half from the one that is in it now. Both transmissions are 5 speed NV3550's. Currently, it does not have a steering stabilizer, I have a brand new Skyjacker for it, however. Basically, Ballistic didn't make any provisions for one in their axle bracket kit, and I have yet to decide how to best mount one, as a stock configuration will not work. Will need track bar bushings replaced soon. Have the new ones, but currently not enough time to install them.Body on it isn't pretty, it's clearly made love to several trees and rocks, It certainly has character and a few stories.Windshield has a crack in it from a truck kicking up a rock. Does not come with the winch seen in some of the pictures.PAYMENT: A certified cashier's check from a bank, and/or cash for the remainder of the final price (less the $250 PayPal Deposit) are accepted forms of payment.
