Vehicle Detail

HERE IT IS! Classic Muscle meets Modern Muscle (with advanced performance & reliability)! 1973 Plymouth Barracuda - Lemon Twist Yellow, in original condition - very solid, been in dry garage since 1990. Previous owner started to tear down and stopped - all parts & pieces are believed to be there. The only thing known to be missing is the original engine wiring harness - but that is not needed because the HEMI conversion includes: '09 Dodge Charger R/T 5.7L 368 hp/395 ft-lbs torque engine, 5-speed Electronic Transmission w/OD, ECU (computer), Wiring harnesses & all engine accessories (AC, starter, alternator, etc) - only 2 things will be needed for conversion: motor mount adapters for E-body & throttle sensor to install. Here's your chance to own a Hemi E-body! First, let's start with the Barracuda: Body: Extremely solid body in original condition - no bodywork done ever - fenders near perfect, hood near perfect, doors in great shape - light surface rust on bottom inside, no rust on roof, quarter panels are solid with some dings - surface rust with some rot thru on DR side & Pass side -see photos, rocker panels in great shape, trunklid has surface rust on inside lip and one rot thru spot on Pass edge of trunk (I have a very nice trunk lid in B5 blue that will go with the car if you want to replace the original trunk lid), valance panels (ft&rear) in good shape, trunk floor has significant surface rust but not soft - only one spot the size of a couple quarters rot thru, floor pans are extremely solid (dirt and dust cover most of the floor in pics-still retains some factory paint)-there is surface rust spots with a couple spots thru - but floor is not soft. The floor pans, the trunk pan & the quarter panels all are very repairable without alot of effort or filler- if that bothers you: panel and pan replacement recommended. I believe the pans and panels to be quite solid enough and I had not planned to replace, but repair. What you see is what you get - a nice thing about original condition - no guesswork as to filler amount, previous rust. The engine compartment is solid and retains most of its original paint. The frame rails are in great shape, front torsion in great shape -very solid underneath, no issues. The bumpers are straight, but will need refinished, bumper guards still attached and in good shape. The front lower valance filler is in good shape with one hairline crack in middle. The grille as you can see is busted on the DR headlight bucket side - the rest is good. (I have a grille not included in this sale in perfect shape, if interested). Windshield has a crack on DR side about 7" long, back glass is perfect, door glass and quarter glass are perfect. ps - the hood, grille and valance panel in front are just set in and not bolted in - there are no alignment issues with these pieces - I just put them together temporarily for taking photos of them on the car. Interior: Perfect dash and dashpad, almost perfect console and overlay (two small holes drilled in the top near front of console), door panels & kick panels in good shape, rear seats are in perfect shape, front bucket seats are in good shape with a couple seam tears. (all of this can be seen in pics) Brand new in box headliner included. All door hardware is there (passenger door torn down, but everything is there). Seat belts good. Sunvisors are good. Shifter & all linkage still there. Mechanical: All A/C components included, everything from the engine bay is in totes except the engine wiring harness. Power brakes, power steering, disc in front/drum in rear, 3 speed wipers, exhaust is there but rusty. 8 3/4 rear end. Misc: I put the Go-Wing on the original trunk lid to see if I liked it - it will go with the car if you like. I planned on going for a ProTouring look and bought the chrome wheels you see in some of the photos on the rear. They are 20" KMC Stealth wheels with good tires - fill up the rear wheelwell very well. I also have 18" KMC Stealth wheels for the front - but have no tires for them right now - that is why you see the rallye wheels on the front. The KMC nor the rallye wheels are included. The set of wheels that will go with the car are the 15" Cragar Street Stars with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires 245/60/15s with ton of tread. The wheels do have some surface rust on the lips, but look good on the car. Let me know if you are interested in the KMC wheel set which is not included. I have both keys - all locks work. I have all stainless/chrome trim for the car and polishes up very well. Although this is being sold as a Hemi conversion package and this is not a 'Cuda, I do have the original broadcast sheet in relatively good condition as well as the fender tag! I also have a manual and repair manual from 1973 too. Fender tag reads: R11 V6X 26 EN2 G35 H51 J52 J54 M21 M25 V1X U A51 B41 C16 C56 FY1 A6X9 000 629 613216 E44 D34 BH23 G3B 564230 Neat time capsule in pretty solid shape for 38yrs old. Like I said, hasn't been touched in 21 years - sat in dry garage after previous owner started to tear down to restore. I thought this was a perfect car to do a Hemi conversion in - the style & attitude of old muscle mated with today's muscle and performance in the new generation Hemi drivetrain. As with alot of people with the best intentions, life happens and our toys go up for sale. However, I would love for the dream to be passed on and become reality - nothing more cool than an E-body Hemi. Here's your chance to invest in something cool, enjoy the heck out of it being an overdrive fuel injected Hemi with A/C, cruise control, etc - all the amenities of today's muscle in the old school body. The new Challenger is an amazing vehicle, but the original E-body is a work art and a piece of history. Combine the amazing, the art and the history in owning this package. When finished, enjoy and know you've invested well - I'm sure you will get multiple offers after you pop the hood and the new Hemi is cradled in there! DRIVETRAIN: 5.7L Hemi engine - 368 hp/395 torq with Variable Cam Timing, 5 Speed Electronic Transmission w/OD. This was a 'complete' drivetrain pull - with all accessories included - even the air box! ECU & Wiring Harnesses! This was all pull from an '09 Dodge Charger R/T with 46kmi on the clock. I am sure I will get a ton of Emails wanting to seperate the conversion package. I understand some have other plans for the new and the old. For now, I would like to keep the Hemi conversion pkg alive and well and pass it on. I may consider seperating later on, but for now - bid well on this unique opportunity! Serious bidders only please - be prepared to purchase with your bid! I will follow the auction payment instructions - Paypal deposit within 24 hrs and full payment within 7days. The car, drivetrain nor title leave until paid in full. Vehicle can be readied for transport - be sure transport company does 'non-driveable' vehicles - arrangements to be made by the buyer. Pickup is welcome. Delivery MAY be possible within a certain mileage for trip expenses not included in the sale price - inquire with needs. On Apr-02-11 at 05:15:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Trunk extensions are solid as a rock - no rust or rot.On Apr-02-11 at 06:26:59 PDT, seller added the following information: This is an AS-IS sale - no warranty available on vehicle or drivetrain. I have done my best to describe everything - any questions? - Email & ask! Thanks
