You glide over the imperfections in the road like your're riding on a cloud and still maintain complete control. The radio plays your favorite song while others on the road look on with envy. You pull up to the restaurant and wait for the valet to finish parking the last in a line of cookie-cutter BMWs and Mercedes. Then he gets to you and says, "Wow, what year is it?" It may be called a Thunderbird, but it is a lightning rod for attention. Understated sedans from Germany are meant for people who talk a big game but can't handle the attention of a truly beautiful car. Those who can't begin to fathom the sheer joy of crowds gathering to talk about the great times had with their thunderbirds. Those who are unable to appreciate the last of the largest of American legends. Those who can't make their own thunder. Can you? This stunning survivor was manufactured in May 1976 and delivery to a woman in Ohio in June. She lovingly cared for this vehicle and only put thirty-seven thousand miles on it during the last 35 years. Sadly, she passed last year and the car was sold to us. We have thoroughly inspected and refreshed this disco darling over the past few months and are giving you the opportunity to really give the neighbors something to talk about. This car is fully refreshed, meaning that there isn't anything that doesn't work. The 460cid V-8 roars to life like it was new and the 4bbl spreadbore carb has been fully rebuilt and adjusted for perfect driving performance. It has had a complete ignition tune-up with new ignition control module, coil, plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. The compression checks out at 140-145psi on all cylinders. The three speed automatic shifts like butter, no hesitation, bucking or other harshness, just smooth enjoyment. The brakes stop true and straight with no pull or shimmy. The entire suspension has been inspected, lubed and new bushings installed as needed. It has brand new Firestone white walls. The paint is virtually perfect, the chrome is like a mirror and the interior is flawless in every way. From the 25oz shag carpet to the beautiful blue healiner there isn't a complaint to be had inside this car. The ORIGINAL RADIO plays with very nice tone and the seats are cushy and resilient. All guages, including THE CLOCK, work perfectly. The interior of the trunk is carpeted in the same shag and looks like a nice place to take a nap. And to top it off, it has a new A/C compressor and has been retro-fitted to R134a. For those not-so-hot days, the power windows work perfectly as does the power seat and power door locks. Even the cruise control, automatic headlights and auto-dimming headlights work perfectly. If that wasn't enough, the car even has its original build sheet, manual and other glove box goodies. Then you will have to pay the remaining balance via cashier’s check or cash in person within seven days of auction close. If you don’t pick up the car after you pay the deposit and I cannot get in touch with you, I will have to keep the deposit as liquidated damages. However, if you arrive to pick up the car and find that it has been materially misdescribed, I will refund the full deposit.
