Vehicle Detail

See an article by BRITISH MOTORING magazine on my car in the winter issue here (PAGE 30): http://mydigimag.rrd.com/publication/?i=58106 Up for auction is my 1972 MGB. This MGB has only 57,000 miles on it. I have lovingly restored it and my restoration was completed in 2004. I have driven the car around a bit, taken it to shows and have had a lot of fun with it, but I am in need of another project and after all, no car lasts forever. See the Winter edition of British Motoring magazine, page 30 for an article they did on my car. My restoration took about 4 years, and I have rebuilt the engine, suspension steering brakes and interior. I think I replaced almost every part of the car during that time at a cost of around $25,000. All of the receipts are in my possession and will go with the car. I bought it from my buddy who kept it in his basement for 14 years, where it was high and dry. I dare you to find any appreciable rust on my MGB. The dog legs are pristine. I have been thru the front end, replacing the a arms, bushings, tie rod ends, shocks, discs, bearings, ect. The 5 original rostyle wheels on the car were removed bead blasted and professionally painted. The engine was bored .40 over, rebuilt, and the entire interior was replaced, except for some parts that are no longer available such as the steering wheel, and glove box lid. These have been lovingly restored and re fitted to my car. New top, new seats, and the “crack of death” has been fixed before paint. The top, brakes, interior, engine and suspension is basically new in this car, but most of the car was kept stock except for a few things. These are the pokey SU fuel pump was replaced with a modern solid state unit, the points-type distributor was replaced by a Pertronix breakerless distributor, there is a Pacesetter exhaust header in place of the cast iron exhaust manifold, and there is a modern 200 watt stereo by Sony fitted. Also, the colour, as I mentioned is not an MG colour, it’s a Porsche colour. Other than that it is a stock, 1800 cc 4 speed non power anything 72 MGB with only 57,000 miles on the clock. I have kept all my receipts from the restoration and they will go with the car, and I have the Ga title in hand. Also, a copy of the article in “British Motoring” will go with the car. My car is a blast to drive around and turns heads wherever it goes. The padded roll bar really makes a difference in the look of the car. The top fits over the roll bar well, and it has the more sought after removable top that makes for a nice look with the top down. This top, if you don’t know, completely removes from the car and frame and top both stow in the trunk. The paint was done by a local shop here in Atlanta and the colour is “Guards Red”, a Porsche color. The car is stored in my closed garage and is only taken out on nice days, unless I am going to Neils Restoration here in Atlanta for service. I know you will love driving my classic British sports car around and having fun with it. Feel free to email me with any questions as I know the car inside and out. If you win the car, I will expect payment before the car is released. If you need to send a truck to get the car, I can help with loading it up for you. Happy bidding!
