You can see the listing on the Barrett-Jackson site by clicking on this link: http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=311&aid=42&pop=0 At that time the car had NEVER been registered and had only 55 miles on the odometer. There are multiple documents from Barrett Jackson that verify that fact including an Arizona Smog Certificate The car sold at that auction with a final price with fee’s and taxes of $12,794 ($11,880 before taxes). The new owner immediately started the sorting process by spending a total of (documentation available for all of this): · $2,371 for: o Brakes o Timing Belt o Water Pump o Air Condition Service o Brake Calipers o Master Cylinder o Brake Lines o Horn repair o Fluid change o Bleed Brake Ystem o Flush Cooling system · $790 for: o Kenwood CD with speakers · $975 for: o Titanium Rims 2005 March 18th – we have a copy of the Arizona Certificate of Title that shows total miles at 324 miles 2005 April 30th – car was sold and the new California Title shows odometer at 1585 miles 2005 August 19th - @ Kruse Auction @ Concorso Italiano we purchase the car with 1,806 miles Since then the following work has been done and the car has been driven regularly and is fully sorted: · Tires · Radio Antenna update · Fluids changed · Car Cover All of the information in this document is supported in available documents. This car now 7,500 and is a true collector car that could be driven across the country today! The Bertone (Fiat) X1/9 for sale here is arguably one of, if not the finest available examples as it has only been driven 7,433 miles and just as importantly it has been fully sorted after sitting as in new condition for over 20 years (more about the history below) Because this car was not driven for some time, the owner has completely re-commissioned the entire brake system. This includes new pads, fluids and hoses. Also, all the plastic bottles for windshield washer, clutch and brake fluid have been replaced with new. The car has never had a spot of rust. This X1/9 is truly turn-key, needing nothing to afford its next owner a reliable, comfortable and dynamic machine. An upgrade stereo is included along with the original documentation history and literature. More about the Bertone-Fiat X1/9: The X1/9 is a two-seater mid-engine sports car designed by Bertone and manufactured by Fiat from 1972-1982 and subsequently by Bertone from 1982-1989. With a transverse engine and gearbox in mid mounted rear drive configuration, the X1/9 was noted for it's excellent handling, lightweight removable hardtop and front and rear storage compartments. The X1/9 succeeded a 1969 show concept car called the Autobianchi A112 Runabout, with styling by Bertone under chief designer Marcello Gandini. Designed around the all new SOHC engine and transmission from the front wheel drive Fiat 128, the X1/9 relocated the transverse drivetrain and suspension assembly from the front of the 128 to the rear of the passenger cabin, directly in front of the rear axle, giving a mid-engined layout. Once developed for production, the two-seater featured sharp edge styling with a wedge shape and pop-up headlights. The X1/9 underwent three generations in the USA: 1974 cars, 1975-78 cars and 1979-87 cars. This particular 1987 car has accumulated only 7500 miles from new. It is in like new, mint condition, having been scrupulously maintained by an enthusiastic and meticulous owner. This last iteration of the X1/9 features the bigger 1500cc engine and 5 speed transmissions making it a pleasure to drive in modern traffic. Creature comforts, such as power windows, A/C and a high-end stereo system make it a surprisingly luxurious touring vehicle as well as as an unbeatable sports car on the back roads. Only a Mini or Caterham 7 can compare when it comes to handling. Due to Fiat leaving the USA, this car remained in storage for twenty years with 49 other X1/9sOn Mar-29-11 at 11:42:36 PDT, seller added the following information: The wheels noted are not 'Titanium' of course...sorry for that copy and paste from a previous document. I looked the reciept up and they are Cromodora CD 30 Abarth wheels purchased from C. Obert & Co in Santa Cruz Ca. Thanks to the viewer that found that error Another note...I have had a comment that the car is an 1986 which is the build date but all of the Title information that has been with the car has always stated 1987
