VIN: 4702902875 This 914 has some issues but is a running car for the most part. Convertible Hard Top. ENGINE: Original 1.7, to the best of my knowledge. FI removed by a previous owner and converted to a single Weber. The engine will start and run. I can attest that it will exceed 5K RPM! The carb seems to work, but might need adjustment to run optimally. An electric fuel pump was installed, which was hot-wired to the battery. It works, but should not be considered safe for anything beyond loading on a trailer. TRANSMISSION: Stock five speed. Clutch feels decent. All new shift bushings installed! Final adjustment of the linkage will be necessary to prevent grinding of the gears. INTERIOR: Somewhat rough and dry, but usable in existing condition. All gauges are present. The dash appears original and is cracked in two places. The speedo may not be connected properly, but the tach works. Fuel gauge may work, but there is probably insufficient fuel to register. Headlights lights pop up and come on. Turn signals work together – a bulb may be shorting out. Stereo is not original to the vehicle. RUST: Passenger side Hell-hole under battery is more than 50% original and intact, but has rusted-through at the lowest point. The driver’s side Hell-hole is intact and original. Battery tray may not be original, but is functional in its current condition. There is a portion of the driver’s side floorboard that has rusted-through, but a replacement floorboard is in the trunk, ready to go! GLASS: All glass appears to be original and intact, with the exception of the windshield, which is cracked on the outside. No leaks of which I am aware. The rear window has the original electronic defroster. BODY: Both boot and trunk are clean, rust-free, and dry. The factory original yellow paint is still visible in both. The passenger side rocker panel was crinkled on the front portion some, but can be repaired easily. The back portion of the truck lid has holes for the rear spoiler, but were partially filled and painted at some time. The rear spoiler is off the car, but included in the sale. The black passenger-side horn grill is missing. Bumpers are present and intact. Door handle on driver’s side is broken. Passenger side works. There are two small dents on the driver’s side door, low, in the front and at the bottom rear of the driver’s side fender. BRAKES: Work without noise or vibration. WHEELS & TIRES: The wheels are not original to the vehicle, but fulfill their purpose. Tires are usable in their current condition. The hub caps lived a previous on a VW. As the pictures illustrate, the external portions of the body are perhaps one of the best attributes of the vehicle! The title for this vehicle is clean and in my name. EXTRAS: The extras which will accompany this sale: Two original stainless outside mirrors, two replacement outside door handles, and a complete tailshift transmission. There is an assortment of engine tin, seals, and assorted small parts and too many little parts to itemize. If the new owner is fortunate enough to live in WA State, the car comes with a special collector license plate that never needs tabs or license renewals.S SPECIAL NOTES AND ADD ON'S: The winning bidder will have the opportunity to purchase, at additional cost, a matching set of four Fuchs knock-off wheels, made by Eagle, with Toyo tire. These wheels come with the high-quality billet aluminum wheel centers - $525. There is also a completely rebuilt, powder-coated pedal set with new bronze bushings - $120. Please don’t ask me to sell these parts separately. If the winning bidder does not want them, they will be listed for sale, but not until.
