This is a 1981 Mercedes Benz 300D. It has 141,075 miles on it and it needs a lot of work. I have owned this car for about 10 years. It has been stored in a garage for the last couple of years. Last week I charged the battery and got it started and drove around the block. The car needs a new starter because the Bendix drive is bad. It usually has trouble starting. The starter spins when the key is turned, but does not properly engage. It takes many tries before the starter gear engages with the gear on the flywheel. The transmission is bad - reverse is not working (its parked on a steep driveway). The engine top end is noisy and it needs a valve adjustment. Two of the four tires have slow leaks. The spare is good. The driver's seat spring sags and the leather is torn on the seat and the armrest. There is bubbling paint, rust and the body is peeling from rear driver side, behind the back wheel. It is baseball size hole from inside the trunk in that same spot. There is a dent on the driver side above the front wheel. There are holes in the back bumper where a trailer hitch was installed. There is no passenger side mirror but there are holes for one. The radio antenna is broken off. The cruise control was working until the control lever next to the steering wheel was broken off. There is an Apple sticker on the back trunk and the letter "D" on diesel is bent. Overall the body paint is dull, faded and has small chips and scratches in a few places. The a/c does not work because the compressor has been removed by the removed by the previous owner. It is not included with this car. The heater works and the sunroof works. The radio was removed but I've included a Sony radio and tape deck that was working but needs to be installed. I've also included a set of used blue rubber car mats and an extra Mercedes hubcap just like the four that are on the car. Please keep in mind that you are looking at a 30 year old car.
