Up for auction is a 1940 chevrolet pickup truck. I took this truck in on trade and I don't know much about it but I will describe what I do know. I have no title only a Bill of sale from the man I traded with and I will sign a Bill of sale for the winning buyer. In most states like MS, AR and GA a title is not required for a vehicle this old. Other options include a title bond or a State issued VIN for a custom built project car. Please check with your local DMV if you plan to put this truck on the road. The truck body is in rather poor condition and will need work. The floor of the bed is gone. It does not have original floorboards just some homemade tin work. The interior is missing all the glass and has plexiglass instead. door panels and window parts are missing. The truck has been lowered 3 inches and it is on a chevy s10 frame with a s10 rear end. It also has what appears to be a solid roll cage built into the frame. The front end and steering is from a chevy nova. The tires and rims are in good shape. I was told it had a new crate motor installed in 2006 and it was a 350 with a 4 bolt main. I ran chevy engine decoder and it checks out to be a 2005 crate engine the numbers are 10066036 and 1m0629 5ve. I was also told that after installing the engine he ran it for a grand total of about 1 mile and trashed the turbo 400 transmission. The transmission will need to be replaced or rebuilt. The truck had been sitting for 4 years. I added gas and a hot battery and she started immediately. I don't know anything about rat rods or ratrods but I know a solid, strong, tight engine when I hear one and this one is strong! There is absolutely no smoke, knocks or rattles just pure strong combustion. The oil pressure is 40 psi at idle. The engine has a lunati performance cam, specs unknown. A new edlebrock 4 barrel carb, edlebrock performer aluminu intake and headers. It has an aluminum gas tank with some sort of ball valves integrated into it mounted in the bed. I WILL NOT ship this truck the buyer will have to see it and hear in person to complete the sale. I live just a few miles south of Memphis TN in Mississippi. I also have the truck listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time unless you use the buy it now option to purchase it immediately. A deposit of $200 via paypal is required to hold the vehicle for 5 days after purchase. I do not have a title and I am not sure what you will need to do to get one!!!! All I can do is guarantee that the vehicle is not stolen by offering you bills of sale.
