I highly recommend taking a MotorCycle Safety Foundation Riding Course. You learn a lot of important maneuvers and techniques that you even use in everyday driving (any vehicle), but most important in riding a motorcycle. 1999 Katana Specs I enjoyed riding the twisties, back roads and the power as well as the exhaust sound. That is what hooked me when I purchased it after looking at a half dozen or more modified, scratched and misused bikes. Click on link for color, if it takes you to the home page, look for Suzuki, then the year, 1999, and finally GSX600 Katana: Paint Colors: 4088 Suzuki 28V body color Marble Italian Red, also Belly Pan(Matte Silky Gray metallic) & Wheel color (silver metallic) Bike is pretty much stock, except for the dark windshield and the exhaust (D&D performance muffler, see photos). Although the front tire is scalloped, I never had any problem with it, even rode to stop signs with no hands and there wasn't any wobble. I think the previous other owner(s) never checked air pressure. Original Suzuki wheels are excellent (see photos). Even the rear fender and factory lights are still on the bike, most of the ones I saw were chopped off and modified. Just changed the fork oil, seals, slides and dust covers on both forks. Oil and filter has been changed, battery was on Battery Butler. Bike runs and looks great, time to spend the money and have some fun! I will include the Krytonite lock (also use this on a MC trip in Germany, rented a liter bike). I was told > DO NOT forget to take the lock off, or you'll drop the bike! Also tank protector and some other small parts as well as touch up paint and Owners Manual (see photos). Bike is used and has scratches from the guy I purchased it. He told me his daughter jumped on the bike, with him on it, when he wasn't looking and another time he was parking the Katana, missed the kickstand, and could not hold it up. The stupid things guys do. I still have plates and insurance on the bike, and can deliver withing 100 miles of central CT, WEATHER PERMITTING, or you can pick up or have transported. It is now just like new, solid and no leaks. The photo which shows the Oil Seal kit are the seals, which have already been installed on the bike, NOT an extra set.> I just had the seals done a couple of weeks ago. All the fairings/cowling are still off of the bike, photos follow. If you do want to put the bike on a pickup or trailer, I can leave the fairings off, if it works better for you. Although the exhaust is good, I had hoped to put a coat of flat black high temp paint on the head pipes, which we did to my son's '94 Suzuki RF600R, looks great even though it is behind the fairings. > The Bike is pretty clean, I always garaged it, I believe that I'm the 3rd owner. I have not ridden the Suzuki, mileage is still the same.
