Vehicle Detail
This car has no equal of its kind in beauty and rarity. This 911S was originally purchased in Germany from a German auto dealership (Autohaus Max Moritz, GMBH) on November 23, 1972 by Carl R. Overr, a German-American, for 33,527.05 Deutsche Marks. Carl Overr drove this car 1650 miles in Germany for the first month of its life and then placed it on a ship (Hanseatic-Vaasa Line) in Bremen, Germany for transport to Los Angeles, California on December 16, 1972. This car has since lived out its entire life in Southern California. Carl Overr was a Porsche buyer with impeccable taste. What makes this car so incredibly rare is the specifications that he provided to the dealership for his special order vehicle. Carl Overr ordered all of the best possible features for speed and beauty for a 1973 911S: Black paint (very rare, not a standard U.S. color) Black leather interior with Recaro seats and European dashboard (rare) Electric sunroof (uncommon) No A/C for added HP (no compromises for speed) From the factory California emissions on a European vehicle (extremely rare) European 22.5 gallon (85L) gas tank with collapsible spare tire (U.S. had standard 16.4 gallon (62L) tank) European through-the-horn-grill (above bumper) chrome/amber fog lamps (rare) European front and rear marker lights (amber NOT red) European front and rear bumpers (NOT the blocky U.S. bumpers) European black chrome bumper guards From the factory 7 inch Fuch wheels front and rear (extremely rare) Rear window wiper and defogger The above features give this car a look that no other all original 1973 911s can claim. Original black on black is incredibly rare (you won’t find one, go ahead and try). Add to that rare color combination the factory special ordered 7 inch Fuch wheels, the California CO2 emissions control package on a European car, the factory European fog lamps and marker lights, the sunroof, and the factory European bumpers on what was originally 1 of 754 1973 911S coupes and you can bet your life you’ll never find another one like it anywhere in the world. This car is unique, period. What’s even more incredible is that all of the documentation to prove the features this car had from the factory still exists to this day in-tact and comes with the car. This car’s documentation is extensive and includes: November 9, 1972 - Porsche inventory document, produced on completion of manufacturing in Germany (written in German) November 23, 1972 - Autohaus Max Moritz, GMBH sales slip with a complete list of all factory special order features (written in German and English) November 23, 1972 - original German vehicle title (written in German) November 23, 1972 - Certificate of Origin, necessary to acquire title and insurance to drive on German roadways (written in German, English, and other languages) November 23, 1972 - International Motor Insurance Card, providing the original owner with 30 days of insurance in Germany November 23, 1972 - Porsche Maintenance Record Book, includes first service in Germany at 1106 miles performed by Max Moritz December 16, 1972 - Hanseatic-Vaasa Line Bill of Lading December 16, 1972 - Schenker & Co GMBH, International Transport, Inventory and Exception Report, Bremen, Germany January 16, 1973 - Original Freight Bill & Arrival Notice, Los Angeles Harbor January 22, 1973 - California DMV vehicle registration card January 22, 1973 - Department of California Highway Patrol, Motor Vehicle Pollution Control, Certificate of Compliance November 23, 1972 to present - entire service record history from all of the owners with receipts And much more… This car has been fully restored to original and has all matching numbers. It includes the original engine and transmission. It has never been in an accident and is completely rust free. In February of 1990 Aase Motors in Fullerton California rebuilt the engine. I finished all of the internal moving parts with my own patented centrifugal barrel finishing process originally intended for super-finishing airfoils in aircraft engines (patent number 5,090,870). This surface finishing process was used to dramatically reduce the friction between mating parts and add compressive stress to the surface of those parts. Aase also took the 2.4L barrels and pistons out and replaced them with higher compression (9.8 to 1) 2.2L barrels and pistons. The block remains untouched and un-machined, and has been pinned together for a perfect non-slip alignment. The cylinder modifications are undetectable upon external visual inspection of the motor. The exhaust is factory stock. The result of this rebuild is a blistering fast 230HP engine that runs incredibly smooth and well beyond stock speed and reliability. The total cost of rebuilding the engine was approximately $25,000. The engine rebuild has approximately 65,000 miles on it. At approximately 35,000 miles on the rebuild we took the engine apart to determine if the surface finishing process had achieved the desired results. What we found was shocking. After 35,000 miles we saw absolutely zero ware on any of the engine’s internal parts. It was as if the car had never been driven since the day the engine was rebuilt. You could comb your hair in the crank shaft! Since we had it apart we replaced the rings for G.P. and put the engine back together. The result of the latest leek down test performed by Aase less than 2,000 miles ago was 4 percent. This is the same as a brand new engine and proves the merits of my finishing technology as well as the importance of pinning the block. Unlike many speed freaks I did not increase the cylinder capacity and therefore did not machine the engine block for larger cylinders. The result is an original unmodified engine block that can easily be taken back to exact original stock specifications. However, I guarantee you that once you drive it you won’t want to. The transmission was completely rebuilt with all gears being replaced on June 21, 2005 at 27,801 on the odometer. The clutch was replaced on October 11, 2006 at 30,035 on the odometer. All the mechanical work was performed By Jeff Ericson the owner of Aase Motors 1104 East Elm Ave. Fullerton Ca 92831 (714) 992-2283 I recently had the interior completely redone by Autos International to original German specifications ($8,239.24). I replaced the fog lamps with another set of identical German amber fog lamps that had been in a box for more than 30 years and had never been used. I also had the exterior paint completely restored and the windshield replaced (over $10,000). Aase Motors also did a complete cosmetic restoration on the engine (plated parts were re-plated and painted parts were repainted). They also replaced the magnesium fan and shroud, as well as various nuts and bolts. Total cost for the cosmetic engine restoration was $7,063.52. The total cost of this complete cosmetic restoration was approximately $26,000. The cosmetic restoration was done at 33,376 on the odometer and has less than 1000 miles on it. This is like a brand new car! All original 1973 911S coupes typically sell for anywhere from $150,000 to $200,000 and none of those can boast of having the combination of special order from the factory features of this car. I have all the documentation to prove it. We have assembled a complete description of documents and photos for your review. Finally, Jeff has serviced this car for the past 3 owners more than 25 years. He knows this car very well. If you have any questions Please start by calling Jeff Ericson at Aase Motors 714-992-2283.
