Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan(2 door sedan). 292 automatic, no other power options, but has B/U lights, skirts, and radio. Original 4bbl replaced(wisely) with 57 and up 2bbl w/factory air breather. Car starts great and runs well, shifts proper, could use a tune-up as I don't know how long its been (wires and plugs). I installed a new cap,set of points and condenser and it started and runs fine. I drove it about 25 miles in traffic and interstate. I installed new brakes(shoes, wheel cylinders, rubber hoses, master cylinder, and steel lines where needed. I installed new fuel pump with filter and a carb kit. It has glass pack mufflers and no tailpipes.Someone had rattle canned the bottom half of car and part of the top trying to come up with a color they liked I guess (with several different colors), so I taped it off and primed it and the top. It was NOT prepped right and still needs stripped and done right, but it does look better. Not trying to cover anything up, just trying to get idea of factory colors (HE=gray/white). Someone has started to redo door and rear side panels and it has a large roll of gray vinyl upholstery material to finish panels and seats. Needs total restoration, including both rockers and both lower rear quarters. I DO have 2 new replacement 2dr rocker panels for it. Front fenders seem great, especially around headlight area. Trunk floor very good except rear corners both sides. Front floors have been roughly patched with flat metal, but not real professional. Doors seem fine as well as hood/trunk. Windshield broken bad in the center, but I have a better one not cracked, but small bubbles on outer edges. Good one goes with the car and I would install it if winner pays for new rubber seal. Tires and wheels in picture are incorrect for the car and DOES NOT go with car. I will install 5 correct wheels, correct hubcaps and roller tires to transport. Excellent car to restore and low reserve for a running/driving Fairlane two door w/automatic. Clear open title. Car sold "AS-IS/WHERE-IS" with NO implied warranty of any kind. Transportation help possible if somewhat close to central Illinois. Call (217-521-1207) or e-mail if less than 10 e-bay transactions BEFORE bidding or bid will be rejected...sorry, but it's happened too many times. Thanks and good luck bidding. On Mar-17-11 at 09:25:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Seller has added information about front cross-member. The x-member DOES need attention. I would NOT replace it myself, but it does have a rust area on the drivers side. The passenger side as well as the lower center between A-frame mounting bolts is fine, but 1/2 way up from drivers side bolt and frame horn needs a small patch. I'll try to add a picture of it, Thanks, Alan.
