1985 Chevrolet El Camino. 305-4bbl V-8. TH350 Automatic. 156,800 +/- miles. The good: California origins. Engine compartment, frame, and underside is clean/virtually rust free. Starts easily and runs well. The bad: Intermittent Wipers, Windshield Washer, Cruise, and Pwr Door locks do not work. Interior decent; seat needs to be re-covered--faded and a couple loose seams/rips. Dent/surface rust near gas filler cap, where hit by a Lowe's cart--see picture. One other small dent/surface rust spot (shopping cart) in right door, near the front, other minor dings. Needs minor dent repairs as described and a paint job. Parts of the car were repaired by previous owners and only spot painted. LH (driver's) side is original paint from door back. Side trim pieces are average condition with some dents on wheel well trim. Driver's seatbelt is frayed but functional. Look on EBay or check auto parts stores for comparable prices and add it up...car and parts together priced very competitively based on research and other listings. Reliable. Runs great. Driven regularly year round in dry weather. Not driven in snow, ice, or salty road conditions and not driven in rain if possible. Selling because we have another similar vehicle. To my knowledge I am the third owner. The history report shows where it was titled--by three different people--in Chula Vista, CA; Galesburg, IL; and by me in Belleville, IL. On Mar-24-11 at 16:40:28 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple folks asked about the bed and tailgate. I had to look for it, but there is a very small dent to the driver's side and above the license plate bucket (should show up in the picture and probably look worse than it is). The bed has original paint so it's faded or worn away, but there's no rust and only a couple small dents from use in the past 26 years. Both tailgate cables are good (not perfect). The gate opens and closes easily and has the same "spring loaded" effect that keeps it from rattling that my other El Camino-type vehicle (GMC Caballero) has. The seals are good enough that the bed will fill with and hold some water if it's rained or washed, so I generally drop the gate if I know it'll rain and the car will be outside.
