FIRST GENERATION CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO Classic Muscle Car - 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo. 105K miles. Clean title in my name, lots of matching numbers, and only a few upgrades. Third owner. Two door hardtop. The original features include a ComfortTilt steering wheel, power steering, and power front disk brakes. Covert cloth interior with front bench seat, custom deluxe belts, soft-ray tinted glass, covert vinyl roof cover, four season air conditioning, AM push-button radio, and Rally wheels. Under the hood it has a strong 350 Turbo-Fire V8 engine with 3 speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. The carburetor has been upgraded to an Edelbrock 600 cfm with electric choke and air cleaner assembly. Also, there was an R134a conversion from the original Factory A/C. Electronic ignition was added, and a brand new starter several years ago. Upgraded to dual exhaust - Magnaflow headers and Flowmaster mufflers. All transmission seals have been replaced, along with valve cover gaskets and more. It runs a little loud, and I've been told there's a sticky lifter right now, mostly because I never drive it anymore. Original mileage, never rebuilt. The exterior is in pretty good shape, just a few minor dings, and some rust here and there around the car. I tried to get as much as possible in the pictures. I was planning on removing the vinyl top since it's bubbling there as well. Before I acquired the car, it was repainted a creamy yellow color. I considered restoring it to the original Covert Tan paint job. Never been wrecked, all original panels as far as I can tell. Interior looks good, only one split seam in the headliner, no tears. I have a set of stainless screws I never got around to installing, and might have an aftermarket mirror for the other side somewhere. I still have the original headers and air cleaner, and there's also a modern CD/MP3 dash mount type radio in a removable custom padded box that attaches to the floor with velcro. Carpet could be replaced. I'm tall, so I moved the bench seat back an additional 2"-3" using a metal adapter. I have just about all the original documentation, including the build sheet, window sticker, manuals, and more. I'll also include the various repair manuals, vintage and modern, plus some other goodies. 1972 Fischer body service manual, two Haynes manuals, Mid-size Chevy repair manual, and others. I haven't driven the car more than 200 miles in the past 2 1/2 years, it's been in my garage. Sat outside for about a year and a half before that. I remember the AC worked at one time, but needs recharged. The windshield used to leak a little on the passenger side, but it's been out of the weather for a while now. It hasn't been on a lift in a while, so I don't have a good view of the underside. Haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. The aftermarket headers reduce the clearance near the center line of the car. Need to take it easy over tall speed bumps.
