Vehicle Detail
I am selling a 1996 Triumph Daytona Super III (only 805 made) according to Triumph USA less than 400 still exist! The bike only has 20,176 miles and gets an amazing 53 MPG (if you don't get on it) but if do desire to get on it, it's like a rocket! It has a clean title and no leins. I am the second owner and I bought the bike in Colorado in 1999. Over all the bike is in very good condition and was never abused and was well maintained with all the scheduled maintenance + it has new tires! Mechanically the bike is flawless. Aesthetically, the bike is over all in great shape and is in amazing shape for a 1996. I will also include a genuine Triumph black leather racing jacket and a 2 helmets (1 yellow and 1 black helmet) ! Please give me a call if you have any questions Though the body is in overall amazing shape, there are some very minor flaws. The following list are the flaws and they are minimal and should by all means not scare you because over all the bike is in 95% amazing condition, I am just being honest where I have found that other things I have bought have been listed as in perfect condition only to find it is not the case (I like to be honest!). The minor flaws include (as seen on photos) small crack on wind guard, scrape on rear spoiler behind seat. Both are an easy fix or can be left as is because they are not very noticeable. On the gas tank their are scratches from my girl friends (now wife) ring from when she would ride on the back (unfortunately a very common occurrence). Once again an easy fix to buy a tank bra or paint the area or for that matter buff out and they would be next to impossible to see (not very noticeable as it currently is, and they would not even show up in the photo). Less than 1in crack on the lower fearing where the bolt holds it to the frame. This is not something that ever got any worse and you would probably never have seen it if I did not mention it, just being honest. The following information is from" Triumph Motorcycles - Their renaissance and the Hinckley Factory" by John Tipler" By 1995 the Triumph repertoire included a faster, lighter, limited-edition version of the Daytona, the Super III, a 900 with hand finished, lightweight, Cosworth-cast cylinder head with gas-flowed ports and high-lift cams. Bringing it to a rapid halt were six-piston calipers aluminum front breaks acting on fully floating twin discs; this was superior to the regular Daytona which used just the four-piston calipers. The discs were machined from single aluminum billet and drilled for maximum efficiency. The yellow and black coachwork incorporated several carbon-fiber sections for strength and lightness, including the front mudguard and rear hugger. The massive cans were clad in Kevlar. Only 805 units were made, and the additional cost over a standard Daytona was around £5k. Because of this hefty premium it was not an easy model to sell when new. However, demand for secondhand ones suddenly took off once production ceased, as from then on the Supper III is seen as a collectable model, and values rose accordingly.
