Vehicle Detail
This is a special car that has virtually all of the most desired upgrades for an E28 M5, including: - Dinan chip - Leo Goff cylinder heads - Fahey crank hub - High flow exahust system - Jim Blanton transmission rebuild - Dinan Stage 3 suspension - Brembo brakes with brake ducts - BBS 17-inch alloy wheels with new (<3,000 miles) Toyo Proxes 225/45ZR17 tires - Short shift kit - H4 headlights - PIAA driving lights - Momo steering wheel - Pioneer head unit with satellite, bluetooth and Ipod, MB Quart speakers throughout, plus subwoofer and amp in the trunk Most of the first generation M5s had tan ("natur") leather, but the interior of this car has been completely and professionally swapped with black leather throughout and it is in excellent shape. Note to the die-hard E28 M5 fans - there were a handful (+/- 30?) E28 M5s originally built with black leather, but this car isn't one of them. You would expect to pay a few thousand dollars more for an original black leather car, and the interior would probably be in worse shape. I just had the car serviced and inspected, including a compression test (all cylinders at 145#), so all of the little details have been sorted. Everything in the car works properly. More importantly, it is a blast to drive! Reason for selling - I bought this car on a whim because I love E28s, this one already had every useful and important upgrade to it, and it is a blast to drive. I could not pass it up! But I have shifted my car focus to my '72 E9 that is currently disabled and so I need to free up capital and get this car into the hands of someone who will enjoy her. Car has about 130k showing on it, but the odometer was broken for awhile. I have since had it fixed, but the best I can do is tell you that the actual mileage is probably around 140k, based on how much I have driven the car and what I know from the previous owner. Here is a link to additional photos: http://s577.photobucket.com/home/2004zhp/index The car does have a replacement hood (you will see the DOT-R sticker in the photos). There is also one small dent on the right front quarter panel, along the top crease (visible in photo), and the front air dam is pretty nicked and chipped (see photos). I don't plan to address those issues before selling, although I will include touch-up paint so you can do it yourself or have it professionally done. The mechanic noted while doing the latest bit of work that there are signs of oil seepage at the cylinder head. As for service records, I have a lot going back to 1996, but nothing before then. I have several large PDF files I can email interested parties. I reserve the right to end the auction early.
