Vehicle Detail
Selling my Chevelle Malibu. This was a father-son project in high school. The car starts up with no problems, idles smooth and has no mechanical issues under the hood. It was originally built in 1997, including professional body-off paint and bumper re-chrome. The car was garaged in 2003 when I decided to buy a Honda due to living in the city. It has been garage kept since then, and rarely driven. The motor was rebuilt in 2003 with roller rockers and new rings. The rebuilt motor has less then 40k miles on it. Interior is 99% restored and in great shape. Ear muff boards need replacing between rear window and side windows. Water gauge does not work, but it's an easy fix since it's just the copper line being crimped. Last spring I decided to bring it back onto the road, so I replaced the battery, thermostat, all fluids, fuel line, and changed the oil and filter. The car doesn't move much lately, and it's because of that that the rear end seal is leaking just a tiny tiny bit. A few drops per week, that is all. But I have recently driven it from Richmond VA to Annapolis MD (about 3 hours) with no issues, to work the bugs out. No oil leaks from the engine anywhere. The stereo has been removed and was in the process of being replaced with an upgraded stereo, which I will include. The wires that you see in the trunk are for the amplifier that I was going to install. It's been a while since I've tinkered with this thing, so I have sorta lost my "gearhead knowledge" as far as numbers and certain specs, but here's the gist: 350 block over .040 Turbo 350 3-speed tranny w/ B&M shift kit, was brand new in bag when I bought the car in 97. 3.31:1 12-bolt posi rear Edelbrock Performer intake Holley 650 4-barrel Crane Cams HI-6 electronic ignition with rev limiter roller rockers Comp Cams camshaft Lunati Pistons Ceramic coated Hedman headers, need to be re-coated. Flowmaster mufflers power steering front and rear sway bars Hotchkis springs front and rear factory A/C body-off paint in 1998, but has since developed small rust spots under the vinyl and around the bottom of the quarter panels. Surface rust only.
