Vehicle Detail

1968 CHEVROLET El Camino Custom **NO RESERVE SALE!! Street Peformance Restoration - Show &Go !! A classic car that is in very solid condition. This was a Kansas City, MO built car that had spent most of its life in a dry SW climate. It made to Washington for its last 12 years or so, and since then it has been garaged and well taken care of, just out for cruises. This is a rare & very solid survivor. It is the El Camino Custom model; with the Malibu trim. It has an older restoration, performance additions & custom paint to SS Muscle Car appearance. The car is equipped with a performance built 350 V8, redone Turbo 350 transmission and front disc brakes. HP Built V8 + Floor Shift AT **THIS CAR IS BEING SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE & WILL BE SOLD! OWNER NEEDS TO SELL ASAP DUE TO JOB LOSS. OWNER RESERVES RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY & TO SELL TO CURRENT BIDDER. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU CAN PAY PER TERMS OF LISTING; THANK YOU. This El Camino was in the process of preparation for new paint. It has an older restoration & rebuild, appx. 12 years ago when it was first brought to the NW. It has very low miles since, maybe a few thousand a year, as a weekend & summer cruiser. The car looks great as a "15 footer" and gets a thumbs up, people stop and look with "nice car" comments. It has the primered Chevelle / El Camino SS hood ready to paint, along with a fender and tailgate. The rear panel of the tailgate needs a little more work along with a small dented area on the drivers side between the door and fender. Overall the car is very straight as you can see by the photos. A black car needs to be almost perfect or you will notice. This is one of those solid cars than can be reapinted black. The rear tailgate trim has been removed, although I did replace the top chrome piece for a few photos. The front windschild trim was also removed, along with some door panels & knobs for body preparations. The car had a high end stereo from the 1990's; so it was removed for replacement. Up underneath the car, in the fender wells & typical areas this car was extremely solid. We do not salt roads here and cars can be well preserved as this one is. I was told it was a low mileage, former show car, showing just under 30,000 miles on the odometer; which may be more as mileage and actual history is unknown. The car has newer carpets and an older bucket style split all leather seat with armrest; a full power seat that is comfortable but worn and the 12V is not presently connected to the powere seat option. This car comes with the factory seat belts, lots of extra trims and parts as needed for the car to complete. This El Camino has a newer set of Centerline Aluminum Racing Wheels, with the rare 3" sized 1/4 mile type set up front and 15" all around and BF Goodrich TA's. The Chevy 350 was built to perfomance standards and was estimated by owners at about 400 +/- horsepower and lots of torque. Behind it sits a Turbo 350 automatic transmission, rebuilt with a Transgo Shiftkit and Megashifter; center floor shift & B&M handle grip. The engine is a later 4 bolt main with performance cam, intake, carburation & more. The engine was balanced and blue-printed and has been well maintained and not abused, as it has had older owners that used to own this type of car in their day. The Holley was rebuilt by Evergreen Performance Carbs. Some of the other build information and options I was told about are as follows: Hooker Headers feed into custom large tubed exhaust with flowmaster mufflers Holley Peformance Carburator; rebuilt & set up by Evergreen Carb Edelbrock Torker Aluminum Intake Competition 270 Cam Vortec Fast Burn 410 heads 350 Engine over-bored to 355 with HP Pistons Transgo shift-kit & Megashifter Electronic Ignition reset to performance curve. HP Timing chains & components, braided hoses & chromed trims. The engine was built for extra torque with hardened valves and runs on street grade 90 octane gas. The rear gearing is approximately 335. I have just done a video, my first try ever, and posted to YOUTUBE so you can hear the El Camino run. I am in my 50's and do not speed in a residential area so the video is more to give you the the car & engine sounds.. it was fun to drive! Cut & paste below to see my amatuer video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xQBwtqr3KE ESTATE SALE: I have been assisting with the sales of private car collections from an estate and classic car collections.
