Vehicle Detail

This 1940 Plymouth model P10 is a true California barn find survivor that is a rare find in this condition with the original Six cylinder and 3 speed trans. This car was in a barn in Paradise California and had been parked for some time due to the prior owner becoming ill. The prior owner restored this car for car shows and parades and I do not know if this car is a real military staff car or not but regardless he did a great job recreating a pice of history. This car gets a lot of attention when it is on the road and is fun to drive around. THE BODY- I will start by saying this 1940 plymouth is in great condition and you will not need to patch or weld any new sheet metal panels on this car. This car maintains all of its original sheet metal. The original floor pans on this car are in outstanding condition and are not rusting through or soft the floor pans have not been patched or tampered with at all they all look great. The body braces and rocker panels are also original to the car and are solid with out flaking or pitting they are also in great condition. The trunk pan is the same and is also original to the car it has light surface rust only due to the original trunk mat. The trunk pan is not soft and will not have to be patched or replaced. The spare tire well is also in super condition and will not be patched or replaced. The front fenders are stock to the car and are rust free and are in super condition and have never been patched or tampered with. The doors are the same no rust or patches they are in great condition. The quarter panels are also original to the car and are in great condition with no sings of damage or cutting or patching the only spot of rust on this car is a few small bubbles below the passengers tail light by the rear bumper valance. The back and front window area is dry and clean. The metal dash and the windshield area is also rust free and is in super condition. The roof and rain gutters are rust free and are in outstanding condition. The fire wall and the trans tunnel has never been touch by a hammer or a saw. Over all this 1940 Plymouth body is in outstanding condition for its age. THE PAINT- This 1940 Plymouth is painted Army green and the paint looks to be professionally done but is getting older and is good enough to drive around and go to the car shows. This paint would be easy to touch up and it would mainly be on the passanger front fender. THE INTERIOR- The interior may be original and it is in great condition for its age. The headliner is still impressive for being older it looks great. The sun visors are also in great shape. The front and back seats are in great condition with no tears or stains. The original instrument and gages are clean and bright and they all work. The steering wheel looks to be original and is in super condition. The radio is original the car but will not work. The door panels are in good condition also. The wood on the dash is also in super condition. All The felt and rubbers throught the car are intact. THE MOTOR- The motor is the original 6 cy that runs good. This1940 Plymouth motor was rebuilt when the car was restored with only 18000 miles on it. the motor does not smoke or leak or have problems it runs great. This car has been in storage for quite some time and the car runs and drives but it will need a service before you really start to run it around. THE TRANS- The transmission is the original 3 speed on the collom and it is in good working order. This trans has no leaks or problems. THE RIMS AND TIRES- The rims are original to the car and the hubcaps are also original and are in great condition. The bias plyn tires are starting to check due to sittin but have good tread. THE SUSPENSION- The front suspension was rebuilt and is tight. The brakes are in working order but may need to be looked at due to being parked. THE BRIGHT WORK- THIS IS A SUPER DRY CAR THAT DID NOT SEE MUCH MOISTURE. This Plymouths inner and outer bright work is all in great condition. The Army green paint on the outer trim is starting to flake off and could be removed the rest of the wat very easily. None of the outer trim was sanded befor it was painted and is not dammaged. THE OVER ALL AND THE HISTORY- All the electrical in the car is in good working order and has never been tampered with or spliced into. The motor bay and the bottom of the car is clean and has not been repainted or tampered with and is not grimy or scaly with rust. This car does not have under coating under the car to hide rust. This car was a older restoration that looks to be professionally done back in the late 80's early 90's. MY CONTACT INFO- 916-544-1806. My name is Matt call me with questions.
