1955 DeSoto Firedome Four Door Sedan Very Nice Shape Sweet Running 291c.i. Hemi w Auto Trans This is a very clean 55 DeSoto. Has the classic grill desired by many 50's hot rod builders. This car runs and drives very nice. Starts right up and purrs like a sewing machine with not even the slightest of vibration. Powerflite shifts nicely and cars goes down road well. Has a very nice interior, guessing is not original but a restoration project within the last ten years. In any event looks very nice. All glass good, locks etc all work. I bought this as a project to keep and a car to drive but I am just too buried right now and this car needs a nice home. Major thing it needs is brakes. Not sure what all it needs in that area but worse case would be master cylinder rebuild kit along with new wheel cylinders. I priced everything assuming worse case and it is less than $350.00 for parts. $200.00 of this is a power brake and master cylinder rebuild kit. You may not even need to rebuild it as I have another correct setup that goes with car, I just have not put it on to see how it works. Looks like is should be fine and was being used a year and a half ago. Also, not all the electrical devices work and I have not even checked into it, usually this is an easy fix. Again, time is not my friend right now. Doors shut great, windows work, car has power brakes and seat. No rust issues ANYWHERE. This is a solid car that could be cherished for years. Ready for cruise-ins once brakes are addressed. Remember, this is an original low mileage (105K) hemi that runs like new. Owner will be very happy with this car. A nice sweet ride!
