For sale is my 1959 Glas Goggomobil TS400 Isard edition. Car has factory suicide type doors. I purchased this car with the intent of restoring it, but just don't have to time for the project. This is a very solid car, it has some surface rust but does not appear to need any panel replacements. The car originally had the electric pre-select type transmission, but when I bought it that had been disconnected and the kit installed to convert it to manual four speed on the floor. The pre-select switch is still installed in the dash, I believe it could be converted back to this original pre-select style. When I got the car I found the gas tank was very clean inside with no rust. I cleaned the carburetor and the fuel shut off valve. The engine turned freely and I had no problem starting it up. It does require a gas/oil mixture. It has a 400 cc 2-stroke engine. I have an ignition key for it and it starts every time and runs fine. I have driven the car carefully around my property as the brakes need to be rebuilt. It shifts through all gears 1-4 including Reverse. I am not a Goggomobil expert but as best I can tell these are the main items that are missing: It is missing the front and rear windscreen glass, the rear tail light lenses, hubcaps, and a few emblems. Also as mentioned the brakes need work. The interior needs to be restored as well, the seats are there but the upholstery is all shot. I was told that most parts are available for a complete restoration. There are a couple of website that may help, glasclub.org, and goggomobil.com. More info about these cars can be found on Wikipedia. The car comes with a clear Kansas antique title in my name. Mileage listed may not be original due to age of the car. All it needs is someone willing to take the time to do a proper restoration on this very collectable car. Please feel free to ask any questions. Car is sold as is with no warranty.
