Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is an excellent example of an original 1973 Ford Maverick. This car is a survivor! It is 95% original and in beautiful condition! The car was purchased last year from the ORIGINAL owner. I bought it with the intention of making it a restomod, and was preparing to install a 351-roller motor and T-56 6-speed transmission, but I decided that I have too many projects and too little time. This car has great potential as a V8 conversion, or as a daily driver, which is what I used it for the past year. The Maverick has 54,433 miles on the original 200ci 6-cylinder and 3-speed manual on the column. The motor has never needed to be rebuilt; it DOES NOT smoke or drip. It starts up on the first try and runs excellently! The drivetrain is all original and needs nothing to be a daily driver. If you choose to do the V8 conversion, included in the auction are frame and motor mounts for a 302 / 351. The codes on the door read -- Body -- 62A Color -- 2B Trim -- BA Trans -- 1 Axle -- 6 DSO -- 76 VIN - 3K91T117207 The first priority I had with the car was to install Granada front disc brakes. From there I installed new front springs (630 rating / lowered 1.5 inches), new KYB front and rear shocks, and aluminum 15x7 wheels with Dunlop GT Qualifier tires. The car handles exceptionally well - it honestly feels and rides like it just rolled off the 1973 assembly line. Being that the car is a 1973, it already has the desirable 5-lug rotors. The bulky front and rear bumpers were replaced with smaller 1972 bumpers. The front valance was also replaced, and painted black for a temporary solution. The bumpers not only look better, but it also dropped a significant amount of weight! The rest of the body and paint is ALL ORIGINAL and in fantastic shape. The only rust on the car is on the lower rear quarter panels. The rest of the car is SOLID. The front of the driver's side quarter panel has a 4-inch diameter dent. The rear driver's side wheel well has a 10x10-inch dent that looks to have been pounded out. There are slight dents and dings throughout the side panels, typical damage from parking lots. The passenger side door appears to have been hit and repaired. The front fenders both have 4-inch dents close to the doors. The roof has a slight crease from someone placing a large object on it. The rear tail panel has a small, nickel-sized dent on the left side of the gas cap. From 25 feet away, the car looks straight and show-worthy, but the body does need some attention, but nothing major. Considering that this Maverick is an original, 38-year old car, it's in excellent shape! The factory front bench seat was replaced in favor of 1967 Mustang bucket seats. The back seat was reupholstered to match. The original armrests were broken, and replaced with NOS. I installed a new Alpine CDE-102 stereo with a pair of Pyle 6x9, 120-ounce speakers. It sounds great! The rest of the interior is ALL ORIGINAL and in BEAUTIFUL condition. All of the door and window seals are in PERFECT shape, keeping the inside solid and quiet. The interior is comfortable and needs absolutely nothing. I am selling this Maverick with no reserve to the highest bidder. I have described the car honestly and accurately, and hope to have an easy transaction with the future owner. Please let me know if you have further questions. Thanks for your interest!
