The original buyer drove it until his passing in 2007, servicing the vehicle regularly at Snyder's the entire time. The engine (and transmission) was rebuilt shortly before his death (possibly 2006) when his nephew purchased the car from his uncle's estate. The nephew put approximately 50,000 miles on the car (and its new engine) before trading it in Las Vegas last October. We purchased it that same month. We had the wheels professionally polished, fixed the air conditioner, the power locks, installed new rear lift gate shocks and glued the loose wood trim on the glove box door. It was the boss's (owner of Viva Las Vegas Autos, Inc.) daily driver until a few weeks ago when the undercarriage received a good steam cleaning and the top side was detailed to near perfection. At some point (before our acquisition) a 10-disc CD changer was installed in the very back and the windows were tinted. We replaced the missing hood ornament and installed a new hood insulation blanket. Everything seems to work and the car drives like a dream. Acceleration is strong, the steering is tight, suspension is well controlled and if you let the glow plugs heat (a few seconds) it fires up instantly. The body quality feels like a bank vault, (we've actually never experienced the quality of a bank vault) sheet metal is smooth and undamaged and it gets amazing mileage. Along with its well documented history of care and maintenance, the nephew was nice enough to provide us with a little background. His uncle loved this wagon and owned several other Mercedes-Benz vehicles and he remembers him being on a first name basis with some of the service technicians at the dealership. That's about it. It is probably one of the nicest turbo-wagons' available at this time and is certainly the tightest mechanically you will likely ever see. From their family to yours with no surprises. We replaced the missing hood ornament on an otherwise superb front end. Black trim is really black and all lights inside and out shine bright. Sheet metal is smooth, undamaged and beautiful. All body hardware functions like new with solid closing doors and rattle free windows. Panel seams are tight and consistent throughout. Interior condition and quality is almost beyond belief for a car with this kind of mileage. Supportive seats are firm with no sag or bottoming out. Wood condition is excellent. 280,000 miles are real with an engine overhaul about 50,000 miles ago. (the transmission was done as well, possibly at the same time but we're not certain) Third row seat is a much desired option on these wagons. 10-disc CD changer.
