I encourage you to inspect the vehicle personally or through an inspection service prior to bidding. 1.3. Be Aware That Vehicles Are Offered As Is/No Warranty Unless Stated. Unless otherwise stated in the vehicle description, the vehicle is being sold “as-is”, with no warranty. I try to accurately and fairly describe any known mechanical or cosmetic issues. However, as with any vehicle, mechanical or other failures may occur from time to time, and I cannot represent or warranty that they will not. You are responsible for any repairs made after the sale. 1.4. Mileage May Vary Slightly. I indicate the mileage of each vehicle at the time of listing. Please note that actual mileage may be slightly higher at the time of the end of the auction and/or delivery due to local test drives, detailing, etc. 2. Bidding on the Vehicle 2.1. Ready to Bid? If you’re ready to bid, great! Please keep in mind a few rules regarding bidding, which follow. 2.2. A Bid Is A Legally Binding Contract. Your bid constitutes a legally binding contract to purchase this vehicle. Please do not bid if you do not intend to, or are not financially able to, complete the purchase of the vehicle. Please have your financial arrangements in place prior to bidding. 2.3. I Don’t Allow Bidders With Negative Feedback. I do not allow bidding from bidders with negative feedback. New bidders with zero feedback should contact me prior to bidding. I reserve the right to obtain and verify the registered information of all users who bid on this auction, and to cancel any and all bids at my discretion. 2.4. I May End An Auction Early. I am a licensed Florida automobile dealer, and all of my vehicles are concurrently offered for sale locally. I reserve the right to end this auction without notice at any time if the vehicle is no longer available, or for any other reason in my sole discretion. Don’t let this vehicle get away! Call me now if you would like to make an offer. 3. Completing the Transaction 3.1. Contact Me. If you are the winning bidder, congratulations! You must contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements for the completion of the transaction. My office phone number is 239.738.4440. 3.2. Pay a Deposit. You must pay a non-refundable $500.00 deposit within 24 hours after the end of the auction to secure the vehicle. Please see Section 3.4, below, for payment methods. 3.3. Pay the Balance Due. You must pay the remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes – please see 3.5, below) within 7 days after the end of the auction. 3.4. Payment Methods. I accept cash in person (under $10,000 only), cashier’s checks, wire transfers, or commercial 3rd-party financing. I also accept PayPal for the payment of deposits only. All funds must be in US dollars. 3.5. Fees and Taxes. 3.5.1. Dealer Fee. I charge a $250 dealer fee, which will be added to all transactions. 3.5.2. Sales Tax, Registration & Title Fees. 3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect. 3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs. 3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially. 3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion. 4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle 4.1. Completed Transaction. Your vehicle will be available for pick up or shipping once full payment is received and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed. 4.2. Pick Up. I am located at 2645 NE 9th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida. I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75. The nearest airport is Southwest Florida Int’l Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. I will happily assist you in finding a shipping company. However, you will be responsible for all arrangements and all costs of shipping. Here's a rare and very nice 1997 Audi A8 4.2 Quattro all-wheel drive V8 with only 102,384 miles on it. This is a NO RESERVE auction...there's no "Buy It Now" price on this one...the car will be sold to the highest bidder. My philosophy is to give as thorough, accurate and frank a description of both the good and bad points as possible, and to show everything in pictures. I have included 100 pictures of this car. If I have missed anything in pictures or in the description, or if anything is unclear, please ask before bidding.
This big Audi is a super nice car. The exterior of the car looks great. It is a dark green metallic. The color is attractive and has hints of blue in some light. The paint is incredibly shiny as you can see in the pictures. The body is straight and dent-free. It has almost no scratches or dings, except for one small door ding on the driver's door that I have pointed out in the pictures. The only items to note on the exterior are that the little "Audi" badge is missing from one of the lower front fenders (pictured), a small plastic cooling duct cover is missing from the the passenger side front under the front bumper, and the driver's side headlight squirter is missing. I am including a replacement headlight squirter assembly (in box), less the decorative plastic escutcheon, with the car. All in all, as you can see from the pictures, the exterior of the car looks super. It is a very classy and understated design in my opinion that looks as good today as it did new.
The interior of the car is in very good condition as well. It is upholstered in gray leather. The upholstery is in great shape, with no rips or tears. The dashboard is perfect and crack-free. The wood trim is glossy and in nice shape. The sunroof has both a slide function and a tilt function. It also contains solar panels that power the ventilation system when the car is off an parked...it works properly and is a really nice feature on hot days (it was 80* this week where I live). The automatic dual zone A/C also works great and is very effective. I counted 10 outlet vents in the front alone, which allows the system to control the cabin climate well in a more subtle, unintrusive manner. There are at least 4 outlets in the rear. I have driven this car in 20* weather as well and found the heat likewise very effective. The driver, front passenger and rear seats are all power adjustible. The driver's seat has 4 memory positions. All of the instruments work properly. The car has a Bose sound system with alot of speakers. It sounds great. There is a tape player in-dash with a factory CD changer in the trunk. The car has dual front airbags and side airbags as well. The only negative items to note in the interior are that the armrest is missing, the headliner has some permanent handprint dents in it, the glove box is difficult to open, and there are some small burn marks in the felt upholstery on front window pillars. I have tried to capture all of these items in the pictures. The car does NOT smell like it has been smoked in. All in all, the interior is in great condition. The instruments and controls are lighted in red and have a great look to them. There is an onboard multi-function trip computer that displays in the instrument cluster. Radio station and artist/song data is displayed there as well. The overall design of the interior is very appealing and the materials fell like they are of are high quality.
The car has a 4.2 liter V8 engine and a 5 speed automatic transmission. It has only 102,384 miles on the odometer. The car also has Audi's famous Quattro full-time all-wheel drive system. The engine is smooth, quiet and powerful. The car runs and drives great. I have personally put 1,500+ miles on this car, and found it an absolute delight to drive. It feels solid and athletic. It's a great highway car too. My time with the car has included a 900+ mile road trip over which the car averaged 26 MPG, giving it a legitimate 525+ mile highway range. I'm including a picture of the instrument cluster I took for posterity at the end of my trip. The only negative items I have noted are that the cruise control works intermittently, and there appears to be a minor oil leak that ends up on a component of the exhaust. I believe that because I have frequently caught a whiff of it immediately after turning the car off or right after restarting following a short stop. In all the time I've had the car I noticed a pea sized drip on my garage floor one time. So I believe it to be minor. Those two items aside, the car runs and drives great. The tires are nearly new with 10/32 or 11/32 of an inch of tread depth all the way around.

3.5.2.1. Florida Buyers. You must pay Florida's 6% sales tax plus any local option taxes applicable in your county, and I am required to collect it at the time of the sale. You are also responsible for the cost of Florida title, tag and registration fees, which I collect an estimate of at the time of sale. If the actual cost of title and registration is less than the estimate, I will refund you the difference; if the actual cost is more that the estimate, you will be required to pay the difference. I do not make any money on tax, tag, registration and title fees I collect.
3.5.2.2. Out-of-State Buyers. If you take delivery of the vehicle at my location, I am required to collect all or a portion of the sales tax applicable to motor vehicle sales in your state, i.e., I am required to collect either (i) the actual rate applicable in your state, or (ii) 6%, whichever is less. Generally, you will receive a credit in your state for sales tax collected here (Note: although the vast majority of states have a reciprocal sales tax agreement with Florida, a few do not; please check with your local tag agency.) If your state’s sales tax rate on motor vehicles is greater than 6%, I am required to collect 6% and you will be responsible for paying the difference in your state. If you have the vehicle shipped and take delivery of it outside of Florida, I do not collect sales tax. In that case, you will be responsible for paying the sales tax applicable in your state directly. In any event, you will be responsible for handling the titling and registration of the vehicle in your state and for paying all associated fees and costs.
3.6. Exchange Documents and Signatures. There are, unfortunately, paperwork requirements for completing the transaction, which may vary depending on whether you are from out-of-state or not. These will be discussed when you contact me initially.
3.7. If You Fail to Pay or Communicate with Me. I expect the transaction to go smoothly. However, if you fail to (i) make contact with me, (ii) pay the deposit, (iii) provide me with required signatures/documents, or (iv) pay the remaining balance (including applicable fees, taxes, and charges), within the timeframes set forth herein, I reserve the right to keep your deposit and re-list the vehicle or otherwise sell it as I see fit, without notice, in my sole discretion. I also reserve the right to report the issue to eBay in my sole discretion.
4. Take Delivery of Your New Vehicle
4.1. Completed Transaction. Your vehicle will be available for pick up or shipping once full payment is received and all other paperwork requirements of the transaction are completed.
4.2. Pick Up. I am located at 2645 NE 9th Ave in Cape Coral, Florida. I am easily accessible from US 41 and from Interstate 75. The nearest airport is Southwest Florida Int’l Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers. Please contact me to make arrangements if you are planning to pick the vehicle up. I can arrange to meet you at RSW and bring you to my location.
4.3. Shipping. I will happily assist you in finding a shipping company. However, you will be responsible for all arrangements and all costs of shipping. I assume no responsibility for damage to the vehicle incurred after it leaves my premises.
This auction is a legally binding contract to buy this vehicle. All vehicles are sold as-is unless otherwise specified. I have done my best to accurately describe this vehicle. It is up to the buyer to come see and further inspect the car before the end of the auction.--> On Feb-28-11 at 22:51:19 PST, seller added the following information:A few people asked about the timing belt over the weekend, so I am posting what I have found out here for everyone. Today I called a repair shop I had reason to believe might have serviced the car, to see if they could provide any details. They had only changed the oil. But one of their mechanics said he remembered doing a timing belt on the car at a different shop he used to work for. He didn't remember when, and that other shop is now closed. He had no reason in the world to lie to me, but unfortunately I can't verify what he said with records or guarantee it's true. The best I can do is relay what I was told, so please take it for what it's worth. I hope this sheds some light. Thanks!
