Vehicle Detail
Selling this bike which I've had since the late 80's. I have never had it running or on the road. At the time I got it on trade for a car engine which I pulled from my old Nova. I never got a title for it. I was told that I could petition the Courts to have a Title made but just didn't get the time or money to work on it. When I first got it, I was also told by a mechanic friend that it just needed points to run. It has sat since, partly in my garage, and partly outside covered. For sale as-is for parts or repair. Thanks for viewing and good luck bidding. On Feb-24-11 at 13:07:17 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, as requested here's some more info I got on the bike this morning. I had a friend (who's more mechanically inclined) take a closer look at it with me this morning. We uncovered it and wheeled it into my garage. The first thing we notice was that one of the spark plugs was not there. I've never taken it off, so I'm guessing that it hasn't been there since I've had it (approximately 20 years). Now the kick starter felt good, but we could not feel any pressure coming from the spark plug hole when we cranked it. We then pulled the other plug and tried it with the same result. It also didn't look too good inside the plug hole (there was visible rust). We're going to check it again with a compression guage as soon as I get a chance, but untill then please bid accordingly. If you must retract your bid, please do so. I completely understand. Thanks and sorry for any inconvenience. On Feb-26-11 at 09:43:25 PST, seller added the following information: I have added a couple more pictures to try and show the condition of the motor. You can see the rust on the spark plug in the one pic, and there is visible rust inside the motor.. I did get to check compression with a guage and there is no pressure whatsover. So, I must say once again to bid accordingly because to me this bike probably needs a new motor. Thanks.
